Not exactly a surprise this but Langford and Braunecker have been waived to make way for the new RB and WR.

What a fall from grace for Langford from his rookie season. Have to think he'll get picked up by someone though. Does this mean they have faith in Cunningham or Cohen to take over if Howard goes down? It sounds like Mizzell is an intriguing prospect but possible more of a third down kind of guy with his receptions?

One of the few positives right now is this group, seem to have a bit of everything.

Didn't they pick up 3 people?
The third was a swap for swap on long snappers.

Langford will more than likely clear waivers. Wonder what his next move was. Kid showed promise.

Id be surprised if he clears waivers to be honest. He showed enough promise in his rookie season to get picked up by someone. Can't think he's not in the top 136 RBs in the league even after evything that's happened to him since his rookie year.

Remember last offseason when dabaers70 was fighting tooth and nail for this worthless sack, no matter how many numbers I pointed to? I do. Good times.

Yet another #calledit ... I'll go ahead and add it to my resumé.

Man I don't know. Well see. I wouldn't be shocked either way.

Also, considering he's getting a lot of crap for keeping three healthy pass rushers in his 53, I have to give credit to Pace for cutting one of his own picks. Would have been easy to stand pat with Carey being on IR but he's moving on.

Report on Mizzell...

One of the more surprising players for the Baltimore Ravens this training camp and preseason was Taquan Mizzell (Smoke). Baltimore had a loaded backfield at the beginning of camp, but a season-ending knee injury to Kenneth Dixon opened the door for someone like Mizzell and Javorius Allen to emerge and claim the spot. An injury to Danny Woodhead that caused him to miss most of the preseason open another door for Smoke.

Mizzell showed his speed and quickness both as a runner and a receiver throughout the preseason and became a player that was almost too tempting not to keep on the active 53-man roster. Mizzell's performance was impressive to the point that fans wanted the Ravens to keep him over the veteran Woodhead. The Ravens made the tough decision and cut Mizzell. The hope was that they could stash him on the practice squad. That didn't happen Sunday, as he was claimed by the Chicago Bears.

Mizzell displayed his talents this preseason, and Baltimore would've really like to keep him with his speed and versatility. Maybe Smoke will get a shot with the Bears at some point this season.

I'm glad we kept K'Deem Carey over him.

Langford was billed as a shifty back in the mold of Lesean McCoy but his vision was never good enough to find the holes

So he has no future as a porn star?

Word!

Was thinking the same thing that Pace showed maturity cutting one of his own with Langford. Also promising that his gamble with Gentry paid off. Good moves. Sounds like we called the Ravens bluff with Mizzell.

The rebuild will take time, but I like how we are adding talent/depth when possible.

Agreed. Baltimore fans seem pretty surprised he was cut. From top to bottom this has a chance to be the best Bears running back squad in a long time.

The Bears are going back to the T formation with 2 TEs and 3 running backs.

Force the other team to go with bigger players and then spread out the TEs and RBs to cause mismatches everywhere.

I like what's he's done at this position but WR is looking terrible right now. Hopefully he manages to get something done this week.

Positive Bears fan: "That's awesome! Can't way to see us run over teams all season. Good job Pace!"

Negative Bears fan: "They better be good.... because our No Brane GM gave us the shittiest WR corps in the league and it wouldn't even matter because our noodle armed QB couldn't hit a stationary barn 15 yards away with 10 tries. Bears suck. 2-14. And can you believe the shitty roster composition we have too? Burp."
