Who is the one free agent the Bears should sign?

There are a few players that really make sense here.....We do need a veteran RB......and RG is currently underwhelming. Though I had major wood for Tony Jefferson as a SS.....Gipson should be able to fill that role quite well.

My choices for Pace's "Speed Dial"......are:

RG - Kelechi Osemele ..........just makes complete sense.....

RB - Leonard Fournette ......Jacksonville wants him out..his price is collapsing......yet another Pace reclamation project on the cheap......but.....a whole lot of upside.....Infante likes Carlos Hyde....E.J. Snyder likes Johnathan Williams

DT/DE - Everson Griffen ...oh why not?! Just to "F" with Minny and solidify the depth on that stacked D-Line.

I really want a backup ILB. Right now, Iyegbuniwe is the first guy off the bench (though I think Mingo will play here too), which is not ideal. I'd really love Darron Lee, who was a former 1st round pick who started 2-3 years for the Jets before going to the Chiefs last year and winning a ring. He was pretty well graded in 2018, the last year he started and was good in coverage with 3 INTs. Still just 25, but became a pretty decent special teams player last year. Lee looks like the best option to potentially re-create the KPL signing which turned out pretty well for them last year.

I think the preferred order left is;

3rd ILB

(both starters have injury problems, current backups have shown nothing)

2nd RB

(think Montgomery is blah, there is no real full time backup if he gets hurt as cohen is a gadget player as is cpatt....that said, the BHVWGHC only calls 5-10 runs per game)

5th option at RG

(not sure anyone out these is any better than the average at best options we have and think they believe ifedi will be the option with bars/coward/mustipher/rookies battling for backup interior roles)

Osemele or Michael Person for RG, would make one of those 2 a priority.

Da Bears Blog and Windy City Blog are giant twats. Both sites couldn't write an article to save their life. I believe WCB is still cunting that Roquan is banging a porn star. DBB likes to believe they have some sort of inside sources at HH and ARob has signed an extension.

Would you take Jason Peters on a 1 year deal? Preferably pay as you play

I would like to have a vet backup RB , if Montgomery goes down and all we have is Cohen and a UDFA that is dangerous. I know the 2 best names are Freeman and Hyde but if you had to go the real cheap option - Jonathan Williams is name I would take a spin on.

They're RB....and still unemployed.

Other than Fournette my guess is they all will get some sort of cheap 1 year deal (vet min to 1 mil....maybe some incentives).

Not like any of these guys are getting guaranteed multi year deals for 5 mil per

Pass on Fournette. He isn't a pass catching back, and Nagy doesn't like to run the ball. He's also vastly overrated, and teams know this is probably his last year in Jax. I'd rather not give up any draft capital and go after Devonta Freeman.

Putting aside Griffen's mental health issues--where are you even going to play him? He's too small to be a 5 technique/never played edge for a 3-4/he's been a DE in a 4 front his whole career. You have Mingo, you traded up to draft a kid, still have Irving--and that's behind Mack and Quinn. I'm more concerned about who pushes RRH? Pace loves the guy, but he's a bum who disappeared when Hicks went down last year.

Osemele I can get behind, provided his shoulder and prognosis are good. Probably wont happen because of Germaine Ifedi and how the Jets cut him really quick after he went and got surgery on said shoulder on his own/without the team's approval or physicians/surgeons approving it. Cant see that going over well with some execs/front office people.

This could be the worst list I've ever seen.

Out of 90 guys the bears have on the roster they are all cutting borderline 53 man roster guys today to add a newly signed fa????

Im sure there is some udfa or 9th tight end that nobody's heard of that will get cut vs braunecker/burns/bray/etc

Fournette caught 76 passes last season after having less than 60 combined his first two seasons. Seems like he's learned how to catch since entering the NFL. Would love to add him for for a late pick in next years draft since he's still young with low mileage and might be a change of scenery candidate.

Ehh, while he CAN be used in the pass game, if you watch him he does nothing any RB couldn't do in the pass game. His hands are solid, which is good.

Minshew just loved to check it down.

Not as much as hometown jimmy tho.

Still Fournette aint useless in the pass game like dude above said. Still don't want him, seems like a headcase. Don't need a bad apple in this locker room.

Most RB’s are check down targets unless they’re special at catching and route running like Forte. The character concerns seem real tho. Even so he would only be here for one year so it might be worth the gamble.

They're talking about guys that are actually under contract with the Bears and i'm not sure if you know this but all 90 players are not under contract with the Bears. LOL

It's the injury issues and character issues that are keeping teams away from trading anything for him even if it's a late round draft pick. Nobody wants to bring a guy with character issues into their locker room. I don't think there ever was any questions about his hands even though he didn't catch many passes while at LSU. The guy can be a really good all around RB in the NFL but too many distractions IMO.
