Easiest schedule in the league

Second least time missed by starters to injury in the league

Gives up multiple future first round picks, a future second round pick, and burned through future cap space like crazy to win in 2018 at the expense of the future. Loses multiple starters as a result and has to watch the rest of league draft in the first two rounds while we sit.

Lose Fangio

Success was based exclusively on defense, which is difficult to maintain

Offense uses new system with trick plays and often relies on Trubisky’s mobility, but cannot consistently run or complete basic passes. What they were good at last year wasn’t very sustainable, and what they weren’t good at is more important.

The team consistently struggled in close games, and could not rely on the offense or special teams to do much in crunch time. Nagy had major mistakes in all of their five losses but avoided criticism by blaming a kicker and pointing to Fangio’s success with the defense.

The team was completely unsustainable. Last year had every star align and it got them to the Wild Card. The defense is still elite, but won’t be quite as dominant as last year while the offense will also regress and special teams still suck. This is going to be a tough fall with no first, third, or fourth round pick next year and limited cap space. We will be stuck with the teams weaknesses from last season (Trubisky and Nagy) because of just mismanaged the teams draft picks have been and how many people bought into the narrative that Nagy was competent last season.
