This will not be like the last rebuild. Hoyer is no Epstein. Theo was able to attract quality players because of who he was and the confidence he projected. Hoyer does not have that charisma. He doesn't exude that enthusiasm. He cannot attract quality based on his personaility like Theo did. Hoyer will soon prove that he is a quality behind the scenes #2 person, not the type of leader an organization requires for greatness. The Cubs will likely be, at most, a .500 team for many years to come and Hoyer will eventually be let go. Case in point... great leaders do not gut their organizations and get little in return. Hoyer waited way too long to trade the "core." This purge will go down in history as a huge debacle. Furthermore, great leaders NEVER blame others for their failures. They take on the responsibility for all outcomes (even if they don't believe it).

Cubs are in the midst of the "Epstein-Hoyer curse", this one is all about giving up a strong farm system to win ONE, yes count it, 1, WS. They "rented" players to get them over the hump while selling the future that could have/would have kept t; team in contention for years.... i.e., players they gave to the White Sox, Yankees, etc... Now Cubs fans have Hoyer who was left with a bare cupboard, forced to trade veterans (who by the way played well below their capability the past two years) for young "potential" talent that may or may not make it to the bigs. Now they have a team that some say have position players to be counted on, frankly, virtually all these guys are journeymen. They have limited capability, may be getting the best you will see out of them this year and remaining players like Happ, Heyward, Duffy and others who have been unable to prove they can hit . Pitching is horrible outside of Hendricks; their "rookies" have not proven a thing, Alzolay has not really shown he can go more than 6 in. and pitch well in what about 50% of his starts. They give up home runs to opponents like it is batting practice. Anyone who believes this team will do anything in 2022 is dreaming, IF and it is a big IF, the farm system has players who progress then maybe 2024 they can compete in their division. Unless they go out and "buy" 2 star pitchers, 3-4 star position players this team is not going anywhere fast. Last night 6-0 lead after 1/2 innning, blown out by inning #6 by the White Sox who love the guys given to them by the Cubs. Oh, Madrigal.... hit and miss prospect, WS did not need him as they traded for a guy will play 2nd base for years for them. Go watch the games for the fun of Wrigley, enjoy the sites and sounds but know that this team is in full rebuild until at least 2024.... Did not need a "billy goat" to get the Cubs where they are at, just needed the "brilliant" Epstein-Hoyer team.

you state that Epstein is the fucking man and hoyer just a guy.

then you go on to say hoyer waited too long to trade the core

yet, hoyer just took over because Epstein left.

so really your complaint is with your “hero” epstein really

and just a fabulously classic hindsight take btw

Did you read that whole wall of text? I read like two sentences and disliked it because this dipshit has been making stupid posts since the deadline.
