Let's say Bears trade down with Colts to #6. One of the big 3 qb's* is on the board and the Saints call Poles...

Fuck it! Chicago should throw in 1st round picks in 2024 and 2025 for this trade. Thomas has only played in 10 games since 2020 so he is obviously fresh AND a 33 year old gimmick player both with bad contracts?? Sign. Me. Up.

The best possible trade would be the Bears getting an additional 1st in 2024 and still getting either Carter or Anderson. Anything that doesn't involve getting one of those 2 players must mean we get multiple 1st rounders or I wouldn't do it.
exactly. MULTIPLE!!!

*Young,Stroud or Levis is on the at #6 in round 1. The Bears have acquired from Colts this years #1(#6), 2nd(#37) and 2nd and 3rd round picks next year.

Okay, so Poles gets a call from Mickey Loomis of the Saints offering this year's 2nd(#40), WR Michael Thomas TE/QB Taysom Hill and 1st round pick next year for Bears 1st(#6) and 5th(#129). Should Poles hang up the phone in a laughing fit or consider this. Hill, while 33 in August still runs about 4.4 and could be used all over the field. Thomas, has been injured often and isn't an explosive receiver, but he's consistent. It would probably mean taking on between $25 million or more combined in salary, but does this upgrade Fields weapons?
#1-2 are going to warrant 2 first rounds even at #6.

I'm in. I'd even throw in the bears next year's 1st just to secure it.

Thomas is a bust not and Hill would be a salary dump

At that point Poles has already traded the #2 pick for too little, so there’s no telling.

This is something similar to what Pace would come up with. That dude went out of his way to make terrible trades.
