They make the playoffs, both Dach and Toews are back. What do your lines look like?

Please note, I am not saying they will. Just an exercise.

Kubalik-Toews-Kurashev
Cat-Strome/Dach-Kane
Janmark-Dach/Strome-Walmark
Suter/Kurashev-Carp-Kampf

13. Soderberg

Keith-Mitchell
Zadorov-Murphy
Seabs-Beudin/Boqvist (loser to Rockford)

7. Caarlson

Lahtenen
Nalimov

I forget how the Seattle thing works, I've felt Kampf was a goner for a while, but doesn't Seattle then call people up and send draft picks to us and shit if we cooperate and offer up what they want? Is that how Strome leaves?

The more I thought about it I would rather keep the Kane Cat Suter line together. Let Dach and Toews have their own lines given us 3 potential scoring lines

I don't completely understand how the Seattle thing works....those are some good looking lines boys.

I would hate to bury Suter on the 4th

Strome has played his way on to the 4th imo. Dude is so soft. Doesn't fit their new grittier aggressive style at all.

Definitely offers nothing to the PP

Yeah...I don't like Cat-Suter-Kane for obvious reasons if you guys follow me.

but you made me re-think it and after percolating...and realizing I unintentionally forgot Hagel...

Suter-Toews-Kubalik
Cat-Dach-Kane
Janmark-Strome-Wallmark
Hagel-Carp-Kampf

13. Kurashev (because he is versatile not excluded)
14. Soderberg (depth, send the yout D to the Rock)

I think with this team I would just stop trying to figure out the matrix and be happy with line roulette because there is so much less consternation with this group and there are lots of reasons to look at different groups together even without Shaw. Kuravhev and Hagel really help us fix some shit.

If we can dangle Strome to Seattle for some draft picks because we present them with a load of shit...that could be our best result. I'm fine with Strome, I like Strome. But that could be our best result rather than lose Kampf...get a solid return on Strome.

Personally I don't think Dach returns or will be in form if he does. Toews will come back...I wish I could go train him for a couple months and help him get right. I know how to help him with a hot yoga and rock climbing combo among beefing up the posterior chain and fight core. (hot yoga can reverse his biochemical issues or even treat Lyme Disease effectively to keep it at bay)

Furthermore...Dach is really the ideal answer to the riddle of Cat-Kane together, imo.

Toews could be too and then build a line around Dach, I like that fine or alot, not sure, and Strome doesn't fit their new plans for the third line but isn't top 6. He's third line and second PP or he's nothing. Tired of Kane having to carry him, he isn't tough in front of net and he really doesn't have great hands on tip shots. I've never understood what I was supposed to be impressed with from his game.

He has a bit of length and can shoot ok. But not just soft...he seems weak. I either hate him or our personal trainer, not totally sure about which one.

Did Stan say in his last presser they have zero updates on Jonny which is sort of strange, no?

Toes quit on the team when he became butt hurts when Crawford was let go. He's got to be salty knowing the team is doing well without him and Lankinen is the leading candidate for the Calder. I don't see Toes returning at all this year, he needs to just do the right thing and retire.

“Bottom line is, I want to win,” Toews told Lazerus. “The expectation for the other leaders on this team and myself is to come ready to training camp every year to be a playoff team. We prepare ourselves to win a Cup for our fans. I’ve never been told that we were going through a rebuild. That has never been communicated to me, for that matter. A lot of this comes as a shock because it’s a completely different direction than we expected.”

This doesn't sound like a guy who is looking forward to opening season

1 month later

"Sorry Stan I'd like to use my 12 years accrued PTO..."

you don't find it weird there is zero updates? It's as if jonny quit on the team and is no longer communicating with hawks management.
No...it sounds to me like Jonny doesn't know exactly what is wrong and neither him or the team really appreciate the wild speculation(I'm sorry, I was half-kidding at first and fully kidding later).

Maybe he got the long covid and doesn't feel right. Maybe its Lyme. Maybe its something from the jungle or south America on his travels. Maybe its 1000 games in the NHL playing above your weight class by 3 division cuz your heart is so damn big?

Whatever...I just wish him the best and hope for a return and full recovery or the best of what is possible! If he hangs them up...I got nothing bad to say. If he wants to continue I would love to watch how he finishes.

Do you know something we don't? Thats only one man's decision. Not yours. Not mine. Not the team.

One man can make that call for himself. I don't see it personally but its a hard league and it takes a toll. He has every trophy you can get in his sport. He's in the hall of fame. He gave it everything and maybe he is burned out, or maybe he is investigating if he is burned out.

It doesn't matter, all we can do is wish him the best and if he wants to bring more glory to sport I'll watch. He is an example of what every man can will themselves to be and the best of us, God bless Him.

He's burned out with the rebuild as stated by his own words. He needs to retire already, save the hawks ten point five million

Well him and Seabrook are saving the squad like 6 million already due to pro-rated money. Thats already a great player they could add at the deadline.

I think Johnny was just tired and upset, and it was a mutual benefit to take some time?! Why think beyond that? The money can now be used under the cap. If they sit out half way...its like 12 million. So a hall of fame player and a face-off specialist, or two really good to great players...can be added by trading out some depth that could get poached by Seattle anyway.

By no means give up picks...but yes we can either acquire a rental or eat salary...do lots of things to put that 12 million to work for the franchise. So Toews is doing us a big favor here and I know you troll this subject, but I've soundly destroyed you and the rest should vote on that.

Your perspective is dirt and not in good faith. I laid it all out and have won this 100-0. You lose troll.

You calling me a troll is priceless considering all your trash posts in the "calling U out" thread to start the season, heh /rekt
