Staff report
A 37-year-old Southwest side man was sentenced to 55 years in prison Friday for the 2006 slaying of a friend and bodyguard of former Bears defensive tackle Tank Johnson, authorities said.
Michael Selvie, of the 2500 block of West 70th Street, was convicted in February of shooting and killing Willie B. Posey at the Ice Bar nightclub, in the 700 block of North Clark Street in the River North neighborhood. The nightclub is now closed.
That night at the club, Selvie allegedly had several altercations with Johnson before he began fighting with Posey. Selvie and Johnson were separated briefly, but then began fighting again and Selvie shot Posey once in the arm.
