This year they're adding a Beginner Mode which walks you through all the aspects to the game. Then it will up the difficulty on things the more you make better decisions (I.E.- throw you strikes down the middle until you start making consistent contact, then throw in some balls hoping you'll lay off bad pitches)

Also, according to IGN, with franchise mode they're focusing on player development and scouting, something that has kind of been lacking so far in the series.

Lastly, there will be a fan vote for which player is on the cover. The finalists are:
-Bryce Harper, OF, Nationals
-Buster Posey, C, Giants
-Matt Kemp, OF, Dodgers
-Andrew McCutchen, OF, Pirates
-CC Sabathia, P, Yankees
-Miguel Cabrera, 3B, Tigers
-Ryan Braun, OF, Brewers

Vote HERE starting January 7th.

But seriously, I hope they revamp the scouting mode. It always felt like the drafting was a complete crapshoot. I'd scout guys and all of their attributes would point to them being a solid prospect, but when you draft them they have D or F potential. I honestly made a living through scouring the scrapheaps in the off-seasons for guys who'd be cut that have B and A potential and sign them for next to nothing. I always liked picking a crappy team to rebuild. It was fun building a contender with a limited payroll.

For whatever reason, 12 was a letdown. I played 10 and 11 the show like it was my job, and 12 just didn't do it for me. I hope 13 is kick ass.

This is going to be the best Show yet. Franchise mode is going to be incredibly deep. REAL SCOUTING!

Amazon pre-order bonus is a $75 million bonus budget for Diamond Dynasty. Meh.

In hindsight I probably should have pre-ordered from Gamestop. You get 12,000 RTTS points. That's a $9 value.

I have a stupidly hard time to read the pitches on 12, it's pretty frustrating. 9 innings and the opp throws 70 balls with about 55 of them strikes cause I suck so bad. I love baseball, but not as a game. I also refuse to play on rookie mode, so maybe it's my fault.

I was the same way when I first started playing this series. Then I toned down the difficulty and changed some of the game sliders. Now it's much more enjoyable. I'm quite the free swinger when it comes to baseball games, but when you tone down the pitch speed (how it shows up on the screen, not MPH) it's easier to work counts.

Bump the difficulty up and I suck. I don't see how there are some people out there that can play on the hardest settings and still do good. But you'll have that with any game. Some people are just good.

Man I really wish I hadn't gotten last year's now. I pretty much get a sports game a year and I kind of want to do hockey or FIFA because those are the oldest games I got.

See I wish I was in that boat. Don't get my wrong 12 is awesome. It is the best baseball game by far on a console, but real scouting makes me happy.

The key to hitting is working counts. i play on HOF and hit just fine. Just have to be really picky what you swing at. my RTTS guy i hit around .350 with 45 HR a year
