Bears have interviewed three 4-3 guys know so it's starting to look like a reality. So here's a breakdown of what may happen.

Khalil Mack: 4:3 position: Closed Defensive End

Robert Quinn: 4-3 Position: Open Defensive End

Roquan Smith: 4-3 Position: Weak Side (Will) Linebacker

Danny T: 4-3 Position: Middle (Mike) Linebacker

I'm all for it. Also, you could cut Hicks and utilize Goldman and Nichols. Nichols would be a better fit for a 4-3.

Not having Quinn and Mack in coverage is a good idea. Kyle Fuller would benefit.

So no one on roster can play SAM. Plus add depth to already weak LB core. The Bears already don’t have QB, OT,SS, ILB depth and maybe WR. Now add another hole. No way the Bears can fill all these holes and cap is going down. Pace and Nagy are doomed.

Yeah I don't like changing the defensive scheme when the head coach is in the hot seat.

Decent SS's are found in the bargain bin every year, sam as SAM LB'ers. QB, OT are much bigger issues.

Honestly, this is obviously a joke....But floyd would have made a great SAM.

Roquan would have dominated as a WILL also.

Correct. It would be his best position for Floyd

Kwik got 5 mill a year. It’s not as cheap as you think they are. ESP for depth.

I have to agree with you...Floyd would have been the perfect SAM in a 4 - 3 and at times he was utilized that way by Fangio and Staley. Roquan could play either the weak side or the middle but his best position would be the WILL

I always liked the 4-3...I wondered why so many wanted the switch to the 3-4

Yeah, you don't want Roquan at MLB. He'd take on too many blocks. At WLB, he could just run and tackle. As for no Sam LB, the Bears wouldn't really need anyone significant there. They play 70% nickel, so you're talking 30% of the snaps, not including the times they are in dime.
