I hope the bulls S&T Lauri for someone other than derozan. Someone who can play the 4 and still be athletic…keep the defensive versatility in the lineup

Spurs signed Zach Collins and McDermott. I think Lauri for DeRozan is dead.

He’s averaging 5.9 points and 2.9 assists per game for his career. And he’s barely averaging a three per game……
Seeing that the team is looking to improve its defense, I believe that he will get more minutes ... which is still not that many points.

My bad.

Unsurprisingly, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander gets max extension from OKC

I'm guessing the bulls have a couple moves left but waiting on the derozan situation before anything else happens.

Yeah apparently its still on. Very unsure of the fit to be honest, but i do appreciate the aggressiveness from the front office. Hard to imagine GarPax even pulling off the Lonzo deal, moreless trying to pull off another one. Nor the Vuc trade earlier.

Yikes. We will have a decent team, but with age on derozan and Vucevic we are going to need 1sts eventually
Agree- curious what protections are on it.

A follow up tweet said its a 2025 1st, didn't say what protections.

Not quite as hyped about this Derozan trade...would've really liked to keep Thad, but I suppose that's the price you must pay for a borderline all star talent.

Now expect Coby and/or Lauri to be shipped off for another big

yeah, losing Thad and another 1st really hurts. Would of much rather given them lauri than Thad

Does that mean we have a 1st next year?
Yes, as we gave Orlando our pick this year, we will have 2022. 2023 is top 4 protected, otherwise it goes to Orlando. The Bulls will have 2024 as long as 2023 conveys.

NBA has a rule that you can't give up two 1st round picks in a row without a swap. The Orlando trade contained no swap, so if 2023 doesn't convey, and then 2024 does, the Bulls would keep their 2025 pick by rule, and the Spurs wouldn't get it until 2026 at the earliest.
