Could be. They also haven't interviewed all of the GM candidates yet. You'd think they'd get their GM finalists set first and work for there. But we're talking about the same ownership group that basically had Mickey Loomis pull their strings with Ryan Pace and John Fox.

But if GM candidates have already submitted their list of HCs in advance of the meetings and Eberflus made a few of those lists, they would have no need to wait. The point is you don't really know where they are in the process as just because they haven't released names publicly doesn't mean they don't already have a good idea of the finalists for both positions.

It is also silly to whine about Loomis pulling strings. Pace and Fox were perfectly good candidates for their jobs. They just failed for various reasons. None of us know who is going to succeed and fail here. Pretending these decisions are obvious is quite silly. People just like to whine in hindsight when it fails.

I don’t mind Brown, but Eberflus? Daboll is more attractive as a HC if people think Fields is a franchise QB.
Daboll is my favorite candidate. But he did say that where he goes, he is bringing Trubisky with him. If that statement was legit, I don’t think either side wants that…

that's why you hire the GM first...

And if Brown is the guy, wants Eberflus but he signed on with Jax because he had no guarantee from Chicago and Jax didn't want to wait?

The only thing that matters is that at the end of this process the GM and HC want to work with each other and are on the same page. The order of shit is irrelevant so long as that is achieved as we don't know all the inner workings of the process.

No one will complain about the “process” if they win. If they lose then we’ll hear about it regardless of how they did it.

Bears will sign Harbaugh cause they need the hype for the new stadium. Media who was all wrong on the Raiders are now mad and start tearing apart the hire and talk about how they should have taken the sacrificial offerings of the great Ballard.
