Dang @truthbedamned what u need all that dank fo? 6 lbs is a lot of weight even for a retiree lol

To be honest to much. @RacerX is going to find that out as he is trimming the buds on his last plant just wishing it was over....lol. My conscience won't allow me to sell it so I give it away a lot. I still have maybe 2 pounds in the freezer and since it is almost a year old I am going to turn it all into butter and freeze it. I still have my Power Plant and Jack Herer from my indoor grow to smoke.

That bottle of oil I posted a pic of? Powerful as hell and I ruined it. Stuck it in some water on the stove to melt it so I could give a friend some and forgot all about it and the plastic bottle melted and ruined it. I was so fucking pissed. But that shit happens when you are 65....lol

Lol that's why I'm just growing 2 plants come January. Get a half pound of Ringo's Gift and a half pound of Harlequin and be done for the year.

Thanks, TBD - I will take some pics over the next couple days and post them. Will also order additional quart jars.

I have little to no faith in my ability to detect clear vs milky trichome tops even with magnification, so I'm going to rely on spotting the amber hue.

And thanks for the link, October is going to be awesome!

It is easy to do. The bulb on the top of the trich starts out clear and then gets milky. Here you can see some of both. The ones in red are still clear and the ones in purple are beginning to turn milky.

This is an example of couch potato affect or for those looking for CBD effect. Way to many amber trichs for good THC content.

An excellent point, I had no idea how much yield I would get and had not really given any thought to allocation, but now that you mention it, here goes (assuming a 5 lb. harvest/80 ounces):

12-month allocation >>>>>>
Smoke: 1 ounce
Hash experiment: 8 ounces
Oil extract to infuse in Shea Butter for medical salve: 16 ounces
Oil extract to place in a tincture and drop away: 16 ounces
Oil extract fir edibles: 16 ounces
Gifts: 23 ounces

That's a great and helpful image. Do you want to harvest when all of the trich tops are milky (i.e., wait until none of the trichs are clear)?

He boils it down and feeds it too his wife as he said before. Gotta keep the wife happy, and when you are retired you can fire the vape up with your morning joe and smoke a whole ounce in one sitting like someone I know does in their garage from time to time.

Yes....All trichs milky....about 5 percent will be amber and that is fine.

I am going to try again as my friend says he definitely would like some. Coconut oil came in a plastic jar I made the mistake of using it to store the oil

I think I will take pictures of my entire process and post them so the experts like @ruprecht can tell me if I am screwing anything up.

This is what 97% THC molecularly distilled oil looks like. For shits and giggles

Don't forget butter for chocolate chip cookies. That is why you don't waste your popcorn buds and sugar leaves. Makes kickass butter.

Mine was much darker. Wonder how they maintain that golden color?

This is almost all THC. All chlorophyll, fats, waxes, coloring, etc. are separated out. It has very little taste, so a lot of companies use distillate for edibles. Very potent too, so it stretches further. It will get you very high, but I prefer to smoke stuff with the terpenes and flavonoids still there. High is better too.

What did you use as a wash again? And how long did you let it soak? Your pic looks like you pulled a lot of chlorophyll.

And some companies are flavouring it with fruit flavours, like nicotine vapes. I'll never understand removing the terpenes only to replace with fruit, or bubble gum.

How was it distilled? Like what type of unit was used?

Has to be under vacuum, and heated like a regular still. Vacuum let's you do things at lower temps, otherwise you'd scorch the shit out of it

I will never understand either. I spent 2 hours today listening to very passionate dude about his process. Gets things tested for impurities and any growth enablers throughout his harvest and end process just to create a perfect thing for the end user. It is insane to me how far weed has gone in the last 20 years. Pretty amazing and at the same time sad that someone who once was a bootlegger is more scientific about it out of curiosity producing things that big pharma should have already been selling.
