I assume everyone here is a personal use grower. So why the worry about the most of the best?
I know a lot of medical people with huge usage needs so I don't judge (much, I still think they have to be wasting a ton to go through as much as what some claims I've seen are).

My biggest worry about LED is a lack of dense buds because that's what I've seen. And I don't even know why for that either. If I can get the trichomes I got that's as much as I need. Since I dry vape trimming all the leaf matter doesn't matter.

I don't actually grow. I have helped some other people do it and been around it a lot, but I still do not grow myself.

I am actually really interested in the science around it because I want to bring my pepper plants inside and keep them over winter and still producing. Everyone has to buy dried Ghosts, Reapers, and Scorpions after harvest season they are tough to find fresh, so I am going to try to maintain a fresh supply through the winter.

My buds are tightening up as they cure.
I need to really prune/thin/defoliate the one I'm going to seed. I'm sure that will get it to make big hard buds.

I built my box years before I got my card hoping to find some seeds to try to see if I'd like getting high again. Never did grow illegally in it. But I did grow a pepper.
It was dirt (heavy on compost) not hydro. It got a systemic fungus that cleared up when I moved it to the garden. But while it was under the light it looked better than what was already in the garden.

I have 25+ ultra hot peppers in my garden this year. A mixture of Ghost, Scorpion, Reaper, and a couple others. My main interest in growing indoors would be to grow ultra hots year round. I use them to make hot sauce.

So I showed my cousin the work we did on a couple build outs she started grinning and showed me these pics lol. She isn’t getting the weight cause of space constraints but she said she will tutor me in growing if I decide to get into it

the people I know that grow do smoke but lets be real over 90% of it is going for sale. For me weight would be a goal of mine I don’t smoke. And even if I did smoke weight would still be a factor cause if I ever got a state license grow you want to be a master at your craft and stand out from the rest plus maximizing profits

I think weight is important, but being a master of your craft is far more about quality. If you can grow ten pounds of so so bud that isn't going to get you anywhere near as quickly as 5#'s of outstanding quality and perfectly cured buds.

If you're talking about IL are you a millionaire or have a lot of investors?
Sure the "craft" growers may be a thing but that's to be seen. I think it's like wine, the regulations make it so you can't think small. The more you give the govt the more you can make, eventually you hit a big enough number that what the govt takes is worth your time and investment.

My 8oz was out of a 2x2 closet. I bet if I grow less I get better. But low quality is a thing for IL cultivators. I think I've had looser buds from a dispensary than I grew. Dried out dust is common.

Male flowers are taking way too long. It also kicked out a bunch of female flowers on one branch. I'm not sure if those would be bad to save seeds from or not. Not that I will, that box was good for vegging, keeping it going longer is becoming too much like work.

WTH are the sticks for? Can you rotate the pic.......resave it and post? They come out sideways because of how you are holding your phone. Email it to yourself and edit it on your computer. That looks like someone very serious about what they are doing. I just grow because it is fun and a pastime.

I hate that I can't smoke. I wish I could hit the lottery just so I can retire, smoke weed, play video games, and read.

It looks like each cola is tied to at least one stick, probably to ensure they don't fall over when they get heavy and also to help create separation so there is air flow through the whole garden (prevents mold issues)

I was helping her do it. She uses the sticks to pull the branches away so that more light and air gets to all the hidden areas. I kind of like the netting people use cause this method is just time consuming and I feel her plants get tall and not wide. I think the way she is doing it she won’t get the weight. And yeah this is to sell not to pass time lol.

I think netting is more for grow mixes. I tried to figure it out for hydro in a tub and couldn't. Gotta lift the lid. Thought about buckets so I could spin to prune and thought maybe a net standing on the lid but even that would cause problems unless completely removed from the box.

A single plant in my box in the center of the tub with the branches on wires and wire spreaders is staying spaced and spins without a problem. It's also filling the space as well as the 3 plants did (which I'm trying not to do this time).

Ahh....but you don't have to lift the lid. Buy a syphon off of Amazon that runs on D cell batteries on Amazon and cut a 2 inch hole in the top of the tub. You can exchange water without ever touching the lid.

They have plugs you can stick in the side. Peg the hose to the top so it works as a fill level indicator. Flip the hose down to drain. I guess just pour in through the basket.

But I do like to swap tubs to clean out build up of salts and keep an eye out for root rot and algae. I like staring at the roots almost as much as staring at the buds.

Check this video out. I'm not too worried about a couple percent of THC although he makes a good point about sales at dispensaries do. I found the terpene shifts very interesting because I do want certain terpenes.
