Football is a sport that requires you maintain the delusion of hope no matter how good or bad your team actually is.

Because of the physicality, that delusion HAS to be there. The players HAVE to believe or the whole house of cards comes crumbling down.

But when you have a QB as shit at Trubisky, its starts to become impossible to maintain that delusion. The hope gets sucked out and players lose that 5-10% of top end effort and everybody starts looking flat.
