Minnesota Vikings lead series 61-56-2
DALVIN COOK vs. ROQUAN SMITH
The Vikings' star runningback is having himself a career season. With three games left to play, Cook is already well over 1300 yards on ground with 14 trips to the end zone. However, Cook has not historically played well against the Chicago defense. He had his lowest YPC average of the season at Solider Field last month and a lot of that had to do with the young linebacker in Chicago that is also having a career season. On his way to another 100+ solo tackle season, Smith has also been showing his pass rushing prowess by notching two sacks on Deshaun Waston this past Sunday. With the Bear defense seemingly woken up with last week's streak ending win, can Smith and his defense keep Cook in check or will this be the week that Cook finally breaks the Chicago defense down?
IFEADI ODENIGBO vs. GERMAIN IFEDI
Last the Bears saw of Ifeadi Odenigbo, he was sacking quarterback Nick Foles in the waning minutes of the Vikings win at Solider Field last month. It caused Foles to leave the game on a stretcher and the Bears to return from their Bye Week with another change under center. They also came out with a change at right tackle. Ifedi played tackle with the Seahawks, but had been playing guard with the Bears. Injuries have forced a lot of shifting, but it looks like the new look Chicago OL is holding it's own and Ifedi being able to take over the right side has been a big part of that. Can Ifedi keep his QB cleaner than the last go around with Odenigbo?
MIKE ZIMMER vs. MITCHELL TRUBISKY
Zimmer's defense had struggled all season, until they met the Nick Foles led Bears. A unit that was giving up over 400 yards through the air per game at the time...held Foles to just over 100 yards passing and kept the Bear offense out of the endzone all day. Now for the rematch, the Bears have the resurgent Trubisky, who has over 750 yards passing with seven TDs in three games. The problem for Chicago is Trubisky has never played a good game against a Mike Zimmer defense. His career passer rating against the Vikings is 72.5 and he has not scored a touchdown since November of 2018 against them. Can Trubisky keep his hot streak alive to keep the Bears postseason dreams alive or will Zimmer continue to keep Trubisky muzzled for possibly the last time?
Sunday's game will mark the ten year anniversary of a Monday Night matchup between the Bears and Vikings that would end up being Brett Farve's last start in the NFL. Following the Metrodome's roof collapsing, the Minnesota Vikings hosted the Chicago Bears at TCF Bank Stadium in subzero tempatures. Farve would later admit to being knocked unconscious from a sack by Bears defensive end Corey Wootton into the frozen field. The Bears would go on to win 40-10 while clinching the NFC North.
