I guess it depends on what is considered an excuse then.
For instance, I think Fields is going to be a very good QB in the league. I also think his offensive line is terrible, the play calling in general sucks, and the offensive scheme seems to have fewer open receivers (forget even talking about wide open receivers) than just about any modern NFL offense I've seen. So are those excuses or are they reality?
I just want to see him get better each week and continue to display confidence despite the adversity. I find it hard to put much stock into anything on the offensive side of the ball with a scheme that seems to only want to run 6 yd hitch routes.
