Claiming Loyola "only won" because Moses Wright was out is not merely pointing out that Georgia Tech was not at full strength. It is a comment meant to take away all merit from the victory. I think the fact that Loyola beat the Illini shows convincingly that they had a chance of beating a Georgia Tech team at full strength but it's a pointless argument.

It’s a single elimination tournament. Losing a game doesn’t mean that you didn’t have a great season or that you weren’t a really really good team. It’s ridiculous to say the Big Ten was overrated because of a couple upsets
