PFF 2018 NFL Mock Draft 2

BY STEVE PALAZZOLO • JAN 18, 2018

17OS3-Mock-Draft-2-Cover-Image-2.jpg

1. CLEVELAND BROWNS (0-16)

QB Baker Mayfield, Oklahoma

2. NEW YORK GIANTS (3-13)

QB Sam Darnold, USC

3. INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (4-12)

DI Maurice Hurst, Michigan

4. CLEVELAND BROWNS – FROM HOUSTON (4-12)

CB Minkah Fitzpatrick, Alabama

5. DENVER BRONCOS (5-11)

QB Josh Rosen, UCLA

6. NEW YORK JETS (5-11)

QB Lamar Jackson, Louisville

7. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (5-11)

S Derwin James, Florida State

8. CHICAGO BEARS (5-11)

OT Connor Williams, Texas

Williams did not look like himself early in 2017, even before injury limited him to only 332 snaps on the year. At his best, Williams is a smooth pass protector (allowed only 27 career pressures on 986 attempts), and he gets to the second level in the running game and dominates linebackers. Left tackle Charles Leno Jr. took a step forward last season, but right tackle Bobby Massie has one year left on his contract and the Bears’ offensive line is very close to potentially having a top-tier unit.

9. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (6-10)

Edge Bradley Chubb, NC State

10. OAKLAND RAIDERS (6-10)

RB Saquon Barkley, Penn State

No way all those QBs go that early cause there will be quality NFL QBs added to the mix via FA or trade.

Methinks PFF needs to stick to stats and analysis.

PFF is like anything else, take it with a grain of salt as just another source of information. I've always said its stupid to use any single source on anything as an end all be all.

I don't mind their work with stats and grading. I don't like it when they delve into things where opinions come into play.

Chubb was being talked about at DE across from Hicks on a couple sites. Dudes an OLB in this scheme with hand in the dirt capabilities. I like Williams a lot, but he's not on Chubbs level who would be a game changer in this defense.

Me thinks PFF needs to close it's doors. It's the Sports Mockery of grading.... PFF please go away...

Out of curiosity who is the inverse of football grading then in your estimation. Because there aren't exactly many sources aside from them, football outsiders, aikman ratings and such. Problem is they are more about team analysis than individual player analysis.

If that were true PFF wouldn't exist. Just saying. Teams pay for their services. Media pay for their services. I welcome all sources of information. If someone can turn me onto another place where I can get player grades and analysis for every starter in the league I am all ears.

I wonder if coaches were to compile individual player ratings per snap/game/season, how they would compare. I suppose teams do this, on some level, and are then able to cross reference grades with PFF.
