I think he's improving individually. He's definitely a good team defender, and has a decent job challenging shots. I know you're asking about defense, but his play overall has improved as he's (hopefully) begun to realize that he's not a 3pt shooter.
He's definitely looked way better under Donovan and his paint defense seems solid for the most part. To knoxville's point, his pick and roll defense seems a bit lacking in that he stays quite far back...don't really see him hedging much at all. Not sure if this is a scheme from Donovan or just something that he does.

He's looked much better offensively this year for sure. I don't mind him taking the long jumpers so long as they're good and open. He may not be a sharpshooter, but getting a free midrange or the occasional 3 is never a bad thing if it's in the flow

It's almost comical how deep he stays in the p&r.

Smart move by Charlotte going into the full court press. That's not going to be fun moving forward.

thats where we will see just how good billy d is. If he draws up some press beaters. Gotta do some stuff to help your guards out, cuz none of them are really PG’s/low turnover guys

I suppose we should all just enjoy a bit of this Bulls rebirth but I still am pissed at all the time that was wasted by GarPax.
A GM that knows what he's doing is such a refreshing change.

Bleachernation has an article suggesting bulls trade lavine, markannen, 3 1st rd picks and a couple 1st rd swaps for Bradley Beal. Who in their right mind would really suggest that. Beal and lavine alone are fairly similar players. Very good players that likely shouldn't be the best player on a real contender
