Vegas gets all the hype and with all due respect deservingly so, but not this time around. I like the Avs, that team is stacked from top to bottom and I feel it’s Nathans turn to hold that cup. It can be heavily debated, but Makinnon has been the best all around player in the NHL for a few years now and I feel this is the year for him and the Avs.

Lucky for Av's Nate agreed to a team friendly cap deal back in the day. Only 6 million per season hit. If only Toes and K acknowledged same the hawks may have eeked out one moar championship.

Nice seeing Reeves get suspended, he's always been a goon. I didn't think there was anything wrong with the Graves hit personally -- there's a difference between "blindside" (which this wasn't) and a guy simply not seeing the oncoming player. The hit was more to the upper chest area and every hit like that is going to cause the head to snap back. Perhaps I didn't mind it because Vegas is, to me, one of the dirtiest teams in the league, not only with Reaves, but Marchessault and Pacioretty, etc. These guys are utter dirt balls and their whole team is predicated on injuring opposing star players in order to win, like they did in game 7 against the Wild. What goes around comes around. Pacioretty's reverse hit was 10 times worse and dirtier than Graves' in my view.

Gotta admit I felt bad for Lehner. I actually don't mind starting him; I feel like even if Fleury was in there, he would have lit up just the same. At least this way, you give Fleury some extra rest.

This coming from a guy who loves Bowman. Oh, the irony.

I thought Graves hit could have been 5 min. But the Reeves crap is what the NHL is trying to get rid of.
Habs win was beautiful to watch, Leaf fans already had the, in final 4 LOL.

And did you see who was shutting down Mathews

Yup, Danault completely shut down both Matthews and Marner. This is by far one of Bowman's most horrid trades ever. At least with guys like TT and Leddy (if I recall correctly), they had to be moved because of salary concerns (TT was a sweetner to lose Bickell, etc.). But Danault -- that was just a straight-up fleece job by Montreal for two shit rentals who contributed absolutely nothing in that playoff year. What a huge loss. How key would Danault be on this team, that's so strapped for talent defensively?

If they're trying to get rid of it,then why only a $5,000 fine when Wilson slammed an Elite player like Panarin's head to the ice after he tore his helmet off, seriosly injuring him. Graves was unscathed even though he acted like he was hurt.

I hate Vegas too but to honest,it's the Avs leaving a trail of broken bodies(Faulk and Janmark)through their first five games.

Montreal is actually thinking of not extending his contract, they feel jake evans may be a suitable replacement at a cheaper price, Danault is looking for 5 million per.

CHOKeSter$!!!! This board thinks the hawks got it bad post 3 cups, lol!

The Toronto Maple Leafs flopped in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

The Maple Leafs haven't won a playoff series since 2004. They have eight straight losses in series-clinching games. And they've lost a winner-take-all game in four straight postseasons: three Game 7s and a Game 5 in the qualifying round last summer against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Most importantly, Toronto remains without a Stanley Cup win since 1967. The Maple Leafs were seen as a legitimate contender for the Cup this season after finishing with 77 points atop the North Division -- 18 more than Montreal, the heavy underdog that ended their season on Monday night.

Thats the thing he is a great 3rd line center but its really hard to pay your 3rd line center 5 mil. Maybe Rangers??

He's pretty good at faceoffs which would help but you're correct, you can't be paying a 10 goal a year forward $5 million no matter how good he is defensively. Sometimes a change of scenery does some good things....must have for Danault as I really don't remember him being anything special when he was here.

He didn't really get too much of a chance here.

That is steep for a player of his caliber. He's good, but he's a defensive specialist, ideal for a 3rd line center, but not top six.

An 11.5 goals a year average is unimpressive but 30 assists a year is dam good for a 3LC,excelent defense and FO's add value too. All that said,I don't know how much more than his 3M he expects, maybe a team needing that final piece pays 4M....any more than that is an overpayment IMO.

Your correct about that, but at the same time you don’t see to many players in the league shut down Marner and Mathews in a 7 game playoff series. Third line centres are tough to evaluate, just remember how Important Dave Bolland was to the Hawks.

You have to love the NHL lottery bullshit, Buffalo with another #1 draft pick, oh and look at that it’s not like every team has to handle over some prime realestate the Kraken get the number 2 pick, what a joke. What happened to entering the league and paying your dues as a franchise.
