Reports: Redskins set to fire head coach Mike Shanahan

Multiple media reports are saying that Mike Shanahan will be fired.

On the FOX pre game show, Jay Glazer that Shanahan is going to be let go and that it will happen soon. "If there is one guy who is going to go quick it's going to be this guy right here [Shanahan]," said Glazer. "He is out."

The Washington Post is reporting that a source in the organization said that Shanahan "definitely" will be fired by sometime tomorrow.

And ESPN's Adam Schefter is joining the chorus, saying that the end for Shanahan is certain and "it's just a matter of when it happens.

Shanahan's departure is not yet official, of course, and we here at CSNwashington.com are working to confirm the reports. Stay tuned.

Mark Maske and Jason Reid of the Washington Post report via a pair of sources that the decision to fire Shanahan has “definitely” been made. One source says that the only question left is whether Shanahan will be officially terminated on Sunday night or if the team will wait until Monday to pull the trigger. The other source says the move will come on Monday.
