I'm obviously too tightly linked to the Eagles to be objective, but I'm having some debate with buddies today. Local Philly media is losing their shit and national media is picking sides, but I think that's more around creating a debate.

Anyway, here's the hit:

Is it dirty or am I just being a big sissy?

BTW, I know I'm already a big sissy in general, but am I being a big sissy about this hit.

Carson has been in the NFL long enough to know to slide. To me, it looked like they were both airborne. His job is to punish ball carriers and Carson clearly was one.

Why is that on this board if you bring up a BS call that happened against the Bears that plays an even bigger role in the outcome of the game, you're a whinner and off base for even discussing it? But when the national media gets mad because someone on their reporting teams favorite NFL team loses and points out a stupid call, it's suddenly okay to discuss it?

Because I believe he is trying to get opinions from folks that are neither Seattle nor Philly fans?

Yes, dirty and ilegal. even if you don’t slide, youre almost in the ground, you shouldn't get hit, special in the head, with a helmet.

I wasn't specifically referring to this. Of course it was a dirty hit that should have been a flag. However, it's similarly undeniable that this board on a general basis will call you a homer if you say, for instance, that penalty on Cordarelle Patterson at Green Bay was a bunch of horse shit and probably cost the Bears the game.

Not illegal, and not dirty. QBs arent protected unless they are in the pocket or sliding. If you try to gain xtra yards like that, youre fair game.

It wasn't the helmet to helmet that took him out, anyway. It was his head hitting the ground after. Suck, but Wentz has to know the situation and live to fight another day. With his injury history, you think he would have learned that by now...

If that hit was done when you and your friends were outside playing football as kids or teenagers

A fight would probably break out against the player who did that hit

He is like 1 inch from the ground he is not going any where and clowny was mad he was running around and took a shot at him its fucking bs

Nope, not dirty.. it’s just a football play. Wentz needs to be smarter then that, he isn’t a running back.

Absolutely not.

Rock for brains Wentz still hasn't learned to slide.

Clowney didn’t even attempt to use his arms. Completely lead with his head when Wentz was clearly falling.

It’s the definition of dirty and should have been flagged.

Why didn't Jordan Howard play?

Because Philly has made the realization that their offense was more dynamic with Scott & Sanders at RB.

I've seen a lot of defenders get flagged when they lead with their head. As soon as a player is deemed 'defenceless' it's a flag.

Dirty/Illegal/Should have been flagged/Will be fined/I don't care if he's suspended/Don't think it was blatant.

I dont think he led with his head. But he definitely was looking to make a hit.

His shoulder is still hurt.

Honestly, the medical staff in Philly is terrible. Look at Zach Ertz as an example. He gets hurt in a game, they say it's a bruised rib, later comes out as a lacerated kidney, he misses the week 17 game, then they say 'nah, it wasn't a lacerated kidney'? If that was my doctor I'd move on.

Last year the franchise QB played 2+ games with a BROKEN BACK. I'm not sure if they are just horrible at diagnosing things, ask the player to play through injuries or let the players do it them self. Either way, it's the same result, players getting re-injured as opposed to getting healthier.

If I’m an Eagle fan it’s dirty...
If I’m a Seahawk fan it’s clean...

As a Bear fan I think it’s aggressive and fine as he was a runner.
As a fan its the kind of football I miss. NFL regular season was Charmin soft on calls..
