Bears Signing WR Damiere Byrd To One-Year Deal

According to Mike Garafolo, the Bears are signing WR Damiere Byrd to a one-year deal on Tuesday. Byrd, 28, wound up signing on with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent out of South Carolina

He's actually not bad. Really fast, definitely a guy that could make the roster. He was the Patriots 2nd leading receiver and probably their most consistent. The fumbles are bad, but he didn't lose any of them (1 was on a punt). He can return a bit. Probably a 6th WR type. Imagine he'd be fighting for a roster spot with whoever remains between Miller, Wims, Ridley, and Goodwin.

Byrd is decent. He was okay with scam newton throwing to him last year

Wims is gone for sure, and I keep forgetting we picked up Goodwin. He was good before his injury, maybe the year off does him good and he brings us a speed threat. Byrd looks like a camp signing.

As long as its a cheap 1 year deal I have no problem - Bears could replace any of the knucklehead WRs on the roster not named Robinson or Mooney and I would be OK with it.
