My fathers idea of divorced dad time was taking me to Hawthorne so he could bet harness and I see the horses in the barn. Did the same for the dog track in Kenosha

I saw racing pigs at Great America or the state fair or some shit.
I had nightmares about being hungry and my ham and bacon kept running away.

That place was legendary. Then I realized I probably shouldn't be watching dogs race as I got older..
