A Rain Delay SCAM Watch has been issued for tonight's game.
What is a Rain Delay SCAM – At the scheduled time of first pitch, the following are in effect:
* No threat of severe weather;
* Zero precipitation in the immediate area is observed;
* Start of game is delayed.
What is a Rain Delay SCAM Watch - Chance of precipitation is forecast for the metro area of the home team; conditions are favorable for a rain delay SCAM.
What is a Rain Delay SCAM Warning – A tarp (a very dry tarp) is on the ground as scheduled game time approaches, while zero precipitation in the immediate area persists. A delay-of-game public address announcement soon follows, along with stadium message board posting, both generally stating "rain in the area" .
What to do if victimized by a Rain Delay SCAM - Proceed to a nearby concessionaire for supplemental suds, snacks, and souvenirs.
