Bears rookies report for training camp today. True to his word, Justin Fields arrived earlier this month to train locally and study the playbook.

Fields said last month of his plans: "When that time comes and I do get my opportunity, I just want to be ready for that moment."

It is inevitable that Fields will start, so make it happen. Put as much pressure on Nagy to alter his plan.

I honestly feel it’s Nagy not wanting to do Dalton dirty after he told him he would be the starter. Didn’t realize Fields would drop and was able to get him. I don’t think he wants to upset him. Yet that is. Could still happen but I think that’s it. Yes, fuck what he thinks and what not but I truly believe that’s it.

He can start him in the preseason

He can do lots of things. I think he’s just scared to tell Dalton. He’s the type that eventually will but not at the beginning. He likes to have a great relationship with players but doesn’t want to upset them because he gets too personal or just doesn’t have the balls at first.

Eh, maybe. I was more of the mind that he just doesn't want to rush anything with Fields. Dalton gives him the excuse to take his time on that front...for now.

I know right?

I just find it hilarious that all the people here that bitched the loudest about Mitch/Foles last year, are the ones that want Dalton to play. Its like they either love the pain, or maybe just want to keep bitching.

If Fields is the real deal, you roll the dice with him. Otherwise its just wasting time. And with all the drama in Green Bay, this year might totally be up for grabs in the North. You don't want a crap start to the season under Dalton burning them in the end of the year...just in case.

Despite issues GB may or may not have, Minnesota has a significantly better roster than the bears. Fields should play if he is better. GB's situation should have zero impact on what happens in Chicago

I think the Bears are more concerned with Field's readiness to start and his long term growth than with starting him ready or not. If he messed up big time and they had to pull him, it would be a negative for his self confidence. I think they want to avoid that at all costs.
