If Smith is demanding the highest pay out of principle as it seems with the Bears and the 5th being close to what he wants you can bet him not being the best on the team would get mentioned as a reason he shouldn't be so worried over a few percentage points.
He'd have to change his wording or he could hire an agent who wouldn't be as emotional about it.
