With all the trade talk about Rondo costing 2 unprotected 1st rounders, If Rose was able to improve his shot in the off-season and with currently two mid-late 1st rounders, could those two co-exist? I personally can't stand Rondo but I was thinking it would be interesting if Rose improved his shot. Defensively, Rondo could guard the SG position and nothing would be lost there and we would gain an All-Star pure PG and an elite scorer at the SG. Would anyone think it would be worth it?

If we can't get Melo, I may feel at ease if we could do this instead with a line-up of

Rondo, Augustin
Rose, Snell
Butler, FA
Mirotic, Taj
Noah, FA

Trying to go after Stephenson as a 2nd option on the surface looks good but risky considering he is a RFA. We are not sure if the Pacers will be willing to give him up considering Granger is a UFA. Rondo is available and intriguing. I'm not saying it would work but it is worth a look.

The issue is we can't predict what we will have with Rose, until he settles back in.

Arbitrary "you can't win with a small backcourt" comment

Arbitrary poor fit comment

But yes, it would be interesting.

Rose is honestly too short to play 2 guard often.

Not plausible because Rose will never play 50 games in a single NBA ever again.

This, although I don't think it would be all that interesting to watch.

I may be one of the few but I think that Rondo is a top four point guard in this league. His coming to Chicago, though, I do not see happening but it'd really be fun to watch he and Rose together in the back-court wouldn't it?

Don't get me wrong, this was not meant to be serious. Just an interesting thought cause I would not put anything past Gar-Pax when they get backed into a corner. They tend to do nothing or head-scratching deals. As for the comments of Rose being to small for SG, he is 6'3 and one of the best at that position for the past several years was Wade at 6'4. You can get away with it when your as athletic as he is. Say it was Paul and Rose. You can't tell me that wouldn't work cause they were two small. There defense would struggle but Rondo is a very good defender and could guard the SG position on defense and run the PG on offense. Like I said it I don't even think it would work but because I think there is a general dislike between Rose and Rondo. It would be interesting basketball wise and as a fan of the game. Don't take this idea serious. I rarely do much outlandish on this board, this was a for fun thread.

Edit: Let's assume D comes back fully health and top form.
