This is a friendly reminder that Ryan Day already has a really amazing job, makes millions of dollars a year, can easily retool each year with top recruiting talent, and probably wants no part of fucking up the next 20 years of his already amazing life by working for the shittiest owners in the NFL.

Thanks!

Rex Ryan would be a hot mess. I don't get why Harbaugh gets all the hate? He has a proven track record.

I personally can't deal with Harbaugh crying to the refs every game and blaming the refs for losses in press conferences.

We have no idea what Ryan Day does or doesn't want. There are only 32 of these jobs. Even Nick Saban left LSU to go to the pros. Pete Carrol left a yearly national championship contender to take a shot with the Seahawks.

I'm not saying it's always the right move or always results in success, but it's a very alluring prospect for many college coaches, even the great ones.

That's one I haven't seen. The Day one is obviously because of the Fields connection.
I’ve started a spark…

Mullen did develop Dak who now looks like a stud NFL QB!

And he’s available!!

Pete left USC because of multiple NCAA investigations and violations, set that program back for years and they've never recovered. Just saying!

Why would Day come to Chicago if he has job security in Columbus?

Jim Harbaugh is more likely when he most likely loses to OSU again.

His first name is Ryan and pace name is also Ryan. Might be a great selling point.

You know this guy personally? He wouldn’t consider leaving for 10 mil a year?

Carroll left USC because they were facing significant sanctions which basically stopped their recruiting tree.

Which by the way were his fault

Money talks, but you know...

My guess is Ryan Day will get a Gruden type contract if not more from OSU as Mel Tucker just got 95million from Michigan State.

It would be horrible business practice for the Bears to go THAT long term (10 years) with a HC who has never been a HC in the NFL with minimal NFL experience (QB Coach w/Eagles & 9ers for a year each in '15 & 16). Day is making 7.5 annually and may very well get a raise of over 10 from OSU. If it took 5yr/65ish mil to get him...that shouldn't be an issue for the Bears to pay, but we all know it would be.

With all that being said...all of this talk of a new HC or new GM should be much ado about nothing. It should be about a new team President after Phillips retires/fired/re-assigned. Offer Peyton Manning whatever it takes to be your new team President (an crazy amount of money/small piece of ownership/full autonomy) and let him pick the new GM and go from there.

Whoever Phillips/Pace and so forth picks to be the new HC...I have little confidence they'll get it right and don't deserve to make that decision ever again.

Just listened to 670 with the college dude guy… yeah, that is my MFing description.

He said the only way Ryan Day leaves for the NFL is if a marquee location reaches out.

Soooooo…. Nagy’s friend becomes the next homie?
