You better delete this article. For some reason, Poles has already accumulated a rabid fan base, and they won't like to hear this.

I'm going to guess had Poles picked offense in the 2nd his fans and anti-fans would be the complete opposite with the only ones staying the same being the blind homers who will praise anything the Bears do.

Not really blind homerism

What I see is people taking a wait and see approach while all the negative ones are already calling it a disaster without seeing the product on the field

Exactly. I expected the Bears to go defense early in this draft, but if they didn’t, I wouldn’t bash them until we see how the players they select perform on the field. Just because they didn’t draft my favorite or preferred players doesn’t mean the ones they did draft suck.

Everyone who’s saying the offense will suck, Poles didn’t get Fields any help, and that the season is doomed before it starts. Lol
It’sa fact he did not get fields help, that’s not saying anyone sucks. In fact most of the people I’ve seen saying he got no help are happy with the draft, in general, besides the fact that he hasn’t done much for fields.

The two aren’t mutually exclusive.

He did get the offense help. 4 picks on the OL, and a weapon at WR. Just not the players many fans preferred, and/of when they wanted them. Thus, the point…

All projects and a special teams guy he hopes works out as receiver. No immediate impact players on paper.

The Bears also had the worst passing defense in the NFL. We had major holes all over this roster, and I think we made major strides in fixing the defensive back field.

Serious questions, what stud was available on #39?
And why was called stud still available in 2nd round?

This goes to everyone who knows better than every other.

Thanks.
this. I don't know what the fuck everyone's expectations were with Poles inheriting a team with money problems and Pace trading picks away for years for seemingly little return his entire tenure with the team. I don't know how many times I have to say it, the Chicago Bears aren't winning a Super Bowl in 2022. build a bridge and get over it now.

this site is possibly even worse after the draft.

Quite frankly, the eternal pessimism of the dick rippers around here is a problem. It’s hard to talk football with all the irrational hate.

Agreed.......There are so many different ways to build a roster, and most take time.

Worried that defense with your top pick is not the way to go. We all know the Packers with the exception of the Love bust has not taken a first- round pick on a skill position in over 20 years. Seems to work for them. The Bills, nothing but first round defensive picks since 2018, where's the help for Allen. KC seems to go year to year O and D, 2021 help for the OL Brown and Humphrey, and Smith a steal in round six. In 2022 three of their first four players defensive picks. That is just three of the best run franchises in the NFL.

The draft is hilarious. Poles could have had the best draft ever, or the worst. We won't know for a while. There are so many dudes that get drafted that seem like sure things, and end up being horrible. And so many dudes that almost no one has ever heard of, or the draft experts are like "SLOW DUMB SUCKS AT FOOTBALL" and they end up being superstars.

The "wait and see" approach is the best approach. But just going all in on hating Poles after free agency and the draft is so dumb. Especially based on the state of the team when he was handed the keys. Cut the dude some slack, this team was in BAD shape when he took over. You gotta give him some time.

I was bummed that Poles didn't go OL earlier. I was more flaccid on WRs than most here.
