That BA OBP gap doesn't look like he's walking much

he’s not. But he also mashed 2 more homeruns today. He now has 21 on the season…the leader in MLB has 23 currently. The guy is flat out raking the baseball

cubs let the wrong guy go

Lol I was jk. Those numbers are redonkulous

I also didn't think much of it when they let him go though as I had given up on all the players after the last couple years

for sure. And to think a certain frequent poster in the cubs forum claimed schwarber would be in Korea this season when he hit FA this past offseason ?

Big props and happy for Schwarbs.
So the elephant in the room….what has changed for him and why couldn’t this organization get him to reach this potential?

Who knows. I felt that leading off made him a walk first batter. He was always better when he went up to hit and accepted his walks if the pitcher was nibbling. When he went up looking to get on 1B vs putting the ball into play he got into trouble.

hes been leading off for Washington this year also. So leading off isn’t the issue

nothing has changed for him. People forget he mashed 38 homers in 2019. He was bad in 2020 like a ton of players during covid shortened season

Change is sometimes best for everyone. How many times did we bitch bout Schwarber the last 2 seasons?

im glad he’s doing well. But we can’t guarantee he’s doing that here.

I haven't caught a lot of his games but I did see bits and pieces of a few. One thing that stands out is that the umpires aren't fucking him over like they did when he was here....maybe some, but not like when he was here and got rung up on anything close. Consequently, he's seeing more pitches in the zone to hit. Always liked him and as bad of rep he got playing LF defense here....he is a hell of lot better than Peterson is out there.

2019 he hit 38 homers. It’s really just the 2020 season he went MIA like a lot of guys did

You can't blame the front office for giving up on a two outcome player. At some point you have to blame Kyle for not being what he was supposed to be.
