McCloughan is a good option but some have said that their not sure he has his life "straightened out" enough to be trusted as a GM right now. Has a substance abuse issue.

What did he do wrong?

I read the story a few weeks ago...Something like

He was a GM for the 49ers

Built the team they have now...

Was drinking to much and spending the night at work...

Divorced

Fired

Went to rehab

Left rehab

Still drinks but says he is not an alcoholic

But is a great talent evaluator...Consults for several teams as an independent...

Best I can give you from memory

There's a great article about McCloughan in the latest issue of ESPN magazine.

It will be a 4-year deal for Scot McCloughan and the #Redskins, I’m told. Goes without saying, it’s a huge hire from a personnel standpoint.

I don't recall them firing Bruce Allen.. I guess he is just going to be president and give up GMing then?

I'm sure I'll see him around the Alexandria bars soon. "Hey Scott, let me buy you a drink..."

They have to comply with the Rooney rule, thats why.

Ahh maybe. I just read Detroit was fined 500k for not complying back in the day. So much for the 'small fine' someone kept talking about.

And I would say, you gotta live your entire life in a coke-filled, prescription painkiller haze if you want to be a higher-up within this organization. I approve!

I'd like having a GM who might randomly shotgun a beer at any moment.

Dan Snyder wipes his ass with 500k, or rather has someone else do it for him. As long as it's not a cap penalty they won't care.
