You kidder you. Lakers are essentially fucked though. Maybe Bulls could land LeBron in a trade and he’s down for the MJ factor. Weeeeeeee
I mentioned this awhile back, but Bronny is going to be the most hyped late first, early second round pick of all time.

EDIT: Or you're going to see a team very much overdraft that kid.

That’d be awesome. Some team over drafts him and he stays with the Lakers ?

Here’s my question with the bulls potentially signing Mitchell…

let’s say you sign him, what do you do with Vuc? Trade him? You can’t play Vuc and Mitchell on the court together, so you’d be signing Mitchell to be the backup to Vuc unless you trade Vuc.

and if you trade Vuc, depending on what you get back, are the bulls a better team with a starting 5 of Mitchell, PWill, derozan. Lavine, and ball than they are with Vuc? Hard to say

I’ve been disappointed with Vuc so far. I don’t mind him being moved.

Vuc has been a disappointment but I likely keep him in that scenario. Bulls need more length and a legit backup 5. Obviously, if a great deal presented itself do it, but bulls need depth there. Then next year let Vuc walk or S&T him and you have his replacement in house.

I never wanted Vuc to begin with, so I say good riddance.

I go back to my ideas of the draft. Mark Williams or Walker Kessler. There's a guy from Arizona that I guess is a good rim protector, but I rarely watch Pac-10 basketball. Even in the tournament.

I’m no draft expert by any means. I dont watch college ball. I’m in the BPA available camp though. Even though I really don’t like Vuc, having him and Robinson as your starting and backup 5 is pretty good and they compliment each other well. Vuc’s expiring deal makes it even sweeter. Adios next season or the patented AKME sign and trade.

So you’re going to sign Mitchell to play like 18 min a game??

Not to mention a players value changes. When the Bulls traded for Vuc he was having a great year. At least offensively. This year he posted his lowest PER in 9 seasons and his 2nd worst WS/48 of his career…well below his career average. He is 31 after all. It’s reasonable to speculate he may be on the decline and his value isn’t what it was when the Bulls traded for him.
Most GMs know not to take a decent shooter with inflated numbers off a bad team.

Kudos to the guards who took it upon themselves to make the bulls defensively annoying last year but it’s unsustainable and limited in application if you don’t have a rotaration of bugs who can metrically belong on the floor.

We aren’t one big short right now we are two even with a healthy Williams.

Vuc should be a situational specialist and bench mob leader IMO.

It’s foolish to rely on him, but props on him for staying healthy and running that many miles this year.

See this is what I’m talking about. But then you still should draft PF at 18 or trade up with the extra guards we have as well.

We need ALOT more viable talent in the front court.

PWill has not shown if he should be a starter or role player yet either.

I think Vuc and PWill are great pieces in the formation of a versatile rotation. Together you can even play some bully ball if you put the right next piece in there and drive teams crazy jumping in and out of small ball and bully ball.

But even if we had three…a big or two typically gets hurt. You have to look at your bigs and ask yourself if we would be ok without Vuc AND PWill and we are completely unprepared for that.

Scottie Pippen and Jordan at least had a rotation of 4 bigs that complimented them. Could all foul and drill 18 foot open jumpers.

No. I’d play him around 22-24 MPG. Vuc’s minutes would come down…and again, Mitchell will be the likely starter when Vuc’s deal is up the following year

So you’re going to play Vuc and Mitchell 24 min a game each. Interesting

About. They compliment each other well. Vuc is ass on defense and brings zero energy and Robinson doesn’t have an offensive game. BD could ride Vuc when he’s hot and mix and match depending who they’re playing. I imagine the minutes would work out roughly even at the end of the year, give or take a few

I just don’t see Vuc and Mitchell on the same roster next season. How much is Mitchell going to get in FA anyways? Bulls might not be able to afford him on open market, who knows. Bulls only have the MLE or whatever to sign with, correct?

If the bulls are just going to sign a backup C to Vuc, I’d rather they go after Hartenstein from LAC.

Re: Robinson’s market value, that’s a good question. I recall hearing the Bulls will have around 20 mil leftover to fill out the roster after LaVine’s extension. Assuming that’s the case, they should have enough for him in theory. Maybe he gets around 12-14 per year? If he’s priced out of the Bulls market then I look at Andre Drummond or Montrezl Harrell.

How on earth would the bulls have 20 mil left to spend after ZL resigns?

pretty sure his contract keeps the bulls above the salary cap, no? It’d limit them to just the MLE like they used to sign Caruso I’m pretty sure
