Honestly no one will really know in 3-5 years from now. For all we know, Jones could have been the best QB in the class, or at least his talent best pulls through in the NFL. It wouldn't matter who the Bears pick among the 5 QB's, I'll always route for the one the Bears picked first come hell or High water. But, that said, impossible to know as of today. Right now, I feel like we got the 2nd, or 3rd best QB at 11, and hopefully he proves to be the best and a future All Pro.

This one is tough. I would only see the move up for Mac if Fields had already been drafted. It would be ok (not great, just ok) because it would mean that the Bears traded up for him ahead of the Patriots.
If this didn't happen, we would be in same the situation of Dalton / Foles being the Bears' QBs for 2021 with a probable overhaul of the front office at the end of the year. We would basically be in the same state we were before the draft, hopelessness. There would be some hope with Mac.

I was internally swearing because they chose to add some promo for some good cause.
I am sure that the people who work for this good cause are angels and doing God's work, but I could not tell you what this cause was if someone promised me 10 million dollars if I got the name right.
It was just the timing of it all.
Of course, I was saying the "Justin Fields. Justin Fields. Please not Mac" too.

I was watching the draft with my wife, and when Detroit was up at #7, I told her:
"Yeah they're probably going to go Justin Fields here. Dammit." I then went on to share with her he was the guy in a pipe dream I hoped the Bears would get. They took offensive tackle Penei Sewell.
Then when Carolina was up next, I told her:
"Hmm yeah they don't really have a QB, so I'd be very surprised if they don't go with Justin Fields." They took CB Jaycee Horn.
Denver was up next at 9, and I wasn't as confident, but told her:
"Yeah Elway is an ex-QB, so I have a hard time imagining them not taking Justin Fields." They took Patrick Surtain II, which if you think about it, kinda makes sense with their defensive-minded head coach. (Footnote: Man that makes me feel old AF because I remember when his pop was drafted).
Finally, Philadelphia was up at 10. "Okay, Philadelphia is like the NFC East version of the Bears. There's absolutely no way they don't grab Fields at 11 (forgetting about them grabbing Jalen Hurts last year). They took DeVonta Smith, which in retrospect is a good pick for them. Man that dude is light on his feet and runs like a deer. (At this point, I am beginning to understand my wife never listens to me lol).
Just as I was looking at the teams in front of the Bears who needed QBs (New England jumped out at me), Roger Goodie announces that the Bears traded-up. My heart rate jumped, and I was doing that same chant. Finally, the Bears drafted Fields and I almost woke my kids up I was so excited. I got texts from my brother-in-law and he said one word: "Congrats!" (I married into a diehard Buffalo Bills family but my brother-in-law and I are surprisingly cerebral in our football talk). Even he knew the Bears made the right choice.
