I don't know what's the difference between a blogger coming up with a fantasy trade and a member of our message board doing so?

For me those fantasy ideas are good things to kill time while waiting for rumors to discuss.

OK first it's just this glorified blogger's fantasy playing on the trade machine. And a guy who obviously doesn't pay attention to the Chicago Bulls and how they operate, it's a real team not fantasy ball. Not news, not rumor not anything even being considered by any of the four teams. Big F'n deal.

Second, it sucks for the Bulls. So they give up 2 expiring contracts to get 2 larger ones and now have to go into next year needing to replace a starting PF, SG and backup guards. How do they predict who will be available and who would be willing to sign with them? All this would do is throw the next few years up into uncertainty and if you pay attention to how they operate, that ain't it.

If anyone notices, the entire organization likes what Hinrich brings and they're not about to trade him again. Dunleavy fills a need for a 3 point shooter, is a solid locker room guy, read today's paper and they wuld just have to go out and find someone else like him. The Houston pick won't be great

Well, it's sure looking like his buddy Melo is gonna opt out of his $24 mil. contract. Is that real enough for your punk ass bad self?

Are you truly an ignorant asshole, or is this just your internet persona?

You fuckin guy's are wack! Ya'll bitch about the Bulls not doing anything, but here they try and you slam it without thinking about it. Go figure! First off, marie's contract has an Early Termination Option on it for next season. The Bulls could very well require that he signs that prior to the deal. In that case ....

No, it doesn't. Carmelo has the ETO. And as other members have already mentioned, even if Amare could opt out next year, why on earth would he opt out of a final season worth nearly $24 million when he's a league-minimum guy who can barely play 15 minutes a night because of his knees?

We'd virtually be lowering our current cap # by $1.3 mil, which I believe saves us this year. We'd also set up to reduce our cap # by $33.7 mil for next season. Whoa!!!!! Fuckin think about that for a moment........

Saving $1.3 million does nothing for us. We're still over the luxury tax. And the Bulls would end up having less cap space going into next year by doing this deal with the addition of Amare. It makes no sense.

We could replace Boozer with Mirotic for approx $8 mil next season, leaving us still about $25 mil to spend. We'd also be dumping MDunn's contract for next year, which we will not need his services by any means. And we basically replace Kirk with Shump.

We have no idea if Mirotic is going to be an upgrade over Boozer. Boozer never transformed into a superstar, but he's consistently given the Bulls 16 to 20 every single night with 8 to 10 boards -- there's nothing wrong with that. There's still no guarantee that Mirotic is even going to come over. Why are you so quick to get rid of Dunleavy? None of the people we'd add in this shitty fake trade are shooters, so why get rid of the only guy on the roster who has great range and can consistently hit shots from mid-range? Replacing Hinrich with Shumpert's rookie scale deal is the only plus to this trade.

The one negative is losing Deng, but we will have to spend $25 mil to replace him. Heck, we could afford to re sign him even.

Losing Deng isn't a negative when you already have two replacements on the roster in Snell and Butler. This team needs shooting and guys who can score in insolation, not a guy with a limited two-way game. And unless Deng is willing to take somewhere between 8-10 million annually for a short-term deal, I don't want him back. Overpaying him based on sentimentality would be a huge mistake.

We would also add a 1st round pick from Houston for 2015, but don't forget our TWO mid round 1st's we'll have in this deep 2014 draft THIS year, and enough money to sign another superstar as well!!!!!

I say this is a great fuckin trade for the Bulls, again with Amarie signing his Early Termination Option. This is exactly the kind of trade you all have been wanting. Heck, the Bulls will still be able to field a competitive team this year as well!

Cool, a late first-rounder when you're unloading two huge expiring deals? I'll pass. And when you consider the Bulls would be trading Boozer before his deal expires after the '14-15 season, why wouldn't you keep him until the offseason and hope to turn his $17+ million expiring deal into something substantial?

And ANYONE who thinks the Knicks could somehow turn the corpse of Amare, Iman Shumpert, and Raymond Felton into Rajon Rondo, Luol Deng and Mike Dunleavy is completely delusional. Unless the Knicks are willing to give up multiple draft picks, there's a 0% chance they're landing that package of players.

Well... considering that Carmelo has been an MVP-caliber player for the last nine years, he's one of the best scorers in the NBA, has no injury history and will almost certainly command a max deal on the open market, it would make a lot of sense for him to opt out of his deal. Amare', on the other hand, hasn't played a full season since his first year in New York, has had multiple knee surgeries, and can't even play 15 minutes a night. You think that's the kind of guy who will just give up $24 million guaranteed dollars to go land a vet's minimum deal? Unless his only goal is to win a ring, he isn't going anywhere.
