After meetings in recent weeks in which Matthew Stafford expressed a desire for a fresh start, the Lions understood his position and plan to begin discussing trade options in the coming weeks for their star quarterback, per sources.

Highly doubtful they'd trade him within the division, but the ramifications could impact the Bears search. Hell, Detroit could even dangle him as part of a deal from Watson if Watson doesn't mind going to Detroit.

I think the lions would trade him to the bears. It's not really like they expect to compete soon and think stafford would lead the bears to an sb.
