Talented player who showed tons of promise his first two years but never achieved due to the the woefulness of the offensive around him. This third year has been a disaster for him in every way. He was never coached right, never given the right encouragement or the right discipline. This was a guy right on that fine line between intensity and recklessness and the Bears organizationally did nothing to ensure he landed on the right side of that curve. He was basically abandoned and thrown to the wolves.

At the end of the day its true, players are the ones most accountable for their actions. But Anthony Miller was a guy the Bears had who could have achieved great things if he had the right leadership. That never happened for him. Sad.

Yeah....it's the bears fault the guy brings his attitude and gang attitude to the field.....and always has...and drops too many balls, commits way too many penalties for a wr and is basically a below replacement level wr

Great take

Miller needs to be accountable to herself, as well. And Nagy not cutting Wims also let Miller think this was OK, don't let Nagy off the hook here either.. like with many things Bears, they are both to blame.

Totally failed him.

I'm concerned that Miller may actually shoot and kill Gardner-Johnson before their little spat is over.

But yes, the Bears failed Miller.

He had a teammate throw a punch in wk 8. Coaches certainly brought this situation up during practice this week. Miller is not smart enough to be a top WR

He dropped a lot of balls and he's a headcase...let's not let him completely off the hook.
I dont intend to let him completely off the hook. I think his mentality is part of the reason he fell as far as he did in the draft. Talent-wise he's a first round guy. Guys with his profile find a lot of success in the league.

But the Bears coaches should've known that coming in and done something to set him up well. Truth is he never had a chance with this franchise, the frustration got to him and boiled over.

It has been reported that there was a fifteen minute meeting this week to specifically avoid engaging Gardner-Johnson.

What talent?

He's not a burner
His hands are suspect
His route running is shit
He's a head case

His eminently replaceable

His hands are actually pretty good when he's focused. He makes extremely difficult catches and has fantastic body control. His route running was great his first couple years in the league. Athletically he's NFL average but that's fine, that's not his game.

All of that has fallen apart this year. Mentally he's been ruined and his game is so predicated on him being with it mentally. A change of scenery is desperately needed for him.
