Didn't want to post this in the sneakerhead thread..

I'm desperately in the market for new running shoes.. as my old Asics are falling apart.

Any recommendations..

Asics are my favorite brand by far. I ran CC for 4 years and they were the most comfortable for me, so I would recommend you get them (again, because you've already stated you have a pair that have worn out)

Asic gel series or Nike Max Air series

Depends on your foot type though.

I run a lot(ran in HS, college, and run marathons, 5k's and half marathon's now) and I won't run in anything except Asic or Nike.

If you've had good luck with Asic I'd stay with them.

Zigtechs are shit. Do not buy.

Mmhmm. Tried a pair, hated them. I'm getting ready to buy a pair of GT-2170G-TX on Sunday. I've always ran with Asics. They've never disappointed me.

Zigtechs remind me of the old Nike Shox runnign shoes when they first came out. Look different/cool but run like shit. I got a pair of Nike Shox and it was worst pair of running shoes ever. The heel cushioning was horrible.

Zigtechs may be an ok "cross training" shoe but as far as a strictly running shoe...you might as well just give yourself shin splints or ankle pain now.

I have the adidas Adi-zero. One of the more comfortable shoes I've worn, but they're probably more along the lines of cross trainers.

Pros: They're really light and flexible. And they look freaking sweet.
Cons: Not a ton of arch support.

Just be sure not to put on too much muscle mass or it won't matter what kind of running shoes you get.

On a serious note, Nike Max Airs are legit. I've worn those for quite a while and love them.

Asics or Mizuno for me. When I retire the Asics from running, they hold up better than the Mizunos but both are great.

I have Nike free run 2s. Not sure how good these are in general but I like them.

1). I like New Balance
2). Recommend Dick's Pond. The folks there are like amature podiatrists.
