Employer - Our Reputation — TTI Florida

For some background. Apparently an Insurance agent. If you were the Agency owner and a video goes viral of an employee acting like that are you going to keep him employed or risk losing business and your reputation over it?

I'm not 'happy' that he lost his job, but he acted the way he did and that's on him. His employer made the right call, imo.

FTR- I work in the Insurance game on the carrier side. I would not write business for that guy.

And this is funny how? Now we have become conditioned to be happy when an idiot makes a mistake they probably regret immediately loses their income?

Like @Ares mentioned..MAybe his boss and coworkers felt threatened?

Who said anything about being happy the guy was fired?

I don't really care what happens to him. I have no time for assholes who scream at old lady's and apparently his employer felt the same way. Karma's a bitch
You were the one with the lol at the end of your post so I just assumed you thought it was funny.

This craze over outing "assholes", or Karens in 30 second videos is pretty pathetic. The world is stressed. People are stressed. Turn your f***ing phones off, and try a little compassion, patience, and understanding. Forgiveness is gone from our society, and we will pay for it.

What's funny is assuming that he regrets it if he doesn't get his ass fired.

Weird guy to cape for. Would you cape for him if he "stood his ground" and put a few rounds in the person "threatening" him?

It's a case by case though isn't it? Shouldn't someone committing assault or a hate crime be outed?

I am not caping for anybody. Learn how to read. I just thought it odd @HawkBear would be happy or think it is funny that someone has lost their lively hood over one single emotional outburst in a very tense world these days. I hope you do realize a lot of people are getting rather annoyed about having a cellphone shoved in their face every time they turn around.

See.....I LOL when I think of someone snatching that cellphone and stomping the shit out of it while still recording. Now that is funny.

I think it's all ridiculous. And I would be pissed off if someone pointed their phone at me.

If this shit makes you feel good, and like something was accomplished to affect change, then good on you. I think you'd be dead wrong though. This is just more division between citizens, who do not know each other, or what is going on in each other's lives.

Yes, I think it is all bulls***, and the outrage over 30 second videos of people we know nothing else about is not so great. But, hey it's entertaining!

I'd think that phone pointing and publishing could serve as a deterrent to people committing racist and criminal acts, seeing that there's relatively instant repercussions. Would you rather people just ignore this stuff and let it happen? Most people aren't programmed to intervene IMO.

I personally think a ton of stress and angst borne out of 3.5 years of Trump's push for more and more volatility is a big factor in all these bi-polar meltdowns we're seeing.

So someone having a meltdown over wearing a mask should lose their job.
Gotcha...........and as long as the videos amuse you then it is all good. You ever had a bad day and did something you regretted? Sorry I don't have it on video so I can share it with 300 million of my closest friends.

Did you watch the video of the guy that got fired or nah?

Devil's advocate.

Perhaps Costco Dan will serve as a warning to other anti-mask psychos.

If your livelihood is at stake, maybe more of them just put on a fucking mask, buy their shit, and go home.

He didn't lose his job for not wearing a mask.

Apparently @truthbedamned is not familiar with code of ethics policies, which more often than not extend to public behavior beyond the workplace.

Apparently having some stress means you can terrorize people under the guise of being "threatened" - fists clenched, screaming profanity, baiting someone into a fight.

He's lucky he didn't get shot.

But refusing to wear a mask led to the scenario in which he has now lost his job.

Perhaps if that is in the head of someone thinking they will ignore the mask policy, they decide to wear the fucking mask rather than possibly end up in a situation where their job could be lost.

Generally though, yes, my employer... all employers have codes of conduct and typically reserve the right to terminate you at their own discretion at basically any time for nearly any reason.

I mean if one feels bad for Cosco Dan... whatabout(ism) all the people whom have been laid off simply because covid-19 ruined the economy? What about them? They didn't even do something wrong, but they still lost their jobs.

I am not "caping" for this guy. I don't know him, except for 30 seconds of video of him losing it. It was ugly, but I don't know the guy, or what was said before the phone was turned on.

I hate this shit. Everyone at each others throats, during a very stressful time, when we all may not be at our best at all times.

This shit solves absolutely nothing, except adding more stress, and nonsense to our lives.

Personally, I think masks are overrated. They have their place, but are the last layer of defense. This mask policing is idiotic, and only serves to divide us more.

If a store has a policy, one should, and must comply. It is their store. Does cosco have this policy there? Are masks mandated where he lives?

Masks were not a big part of the response in places like Iceland, New Zealand, or here in Canada. How are things going in the States?

Good f***ing grief!

To recap: Threatening an old lady and acting like a comple jackass and then losing your job = not funny

Assaulting someone, taking their phone and destroying it = funny

I hate it too, but I was more referring to the videos of assault and overt racist attacks, not Costco Dan.

I don't think I need to find my empathy for the four guys filmed pinning a black guy up to a tree and dangling a noose in front of him, just because it was only 30 seconds of footage of people I will never know.

Or the attorney lady who's filmed screaming racial slurs at someone for speaking Spanish at a 711, telling her to go back to where she came from and then putting her hands on her while a dude is filming her telling her she needs to GTFO.

It is getting exhausting to see this stuff, and I do think it's taking its toll, but at the same time maybe these ****ers will calm it down a bit knowing that they are more likely to face consequences due to this trend.

As for the masks, Costco has had a policy since May, and limited their occupancy as well. It's one of only a few places where you can pretty much count on a consistent safer shopping experience. Costco Dan knew this when he wore a mask to enter the store, and definitely should have expected to be confronted about it.
