Looks like Monty will be out for a few games. Do you think Gurley could be good for 10 touches a game? Don't think he's a #1 but could be a solid role player. Could be a nice backup later in the season to eat some carries.

Knees are shot. Might as well sign some fresh legs off a practice squad
Can they help block for Fields? Gurley might not be the best guy, but we need someone with real experience to watch QB1s six.

This is why they signed Damien Williams and drafted Herbert

If Monty is out for approx 3 weeks they'll place him on the ir and sign nall (maybe pierce)

.if he's out for the season; they may look for a more permanent guy but likely someone who can help on ST to replace Williams who will likely get.pullled from that duty

Herbie the love bug will rise to stardom now that he has the opportunity. Most rushing yards per attempt in college football last year. Already leads the NFL in highest average return yards. He just needs his chance. Williams is a great #2.
In reality the # of touches Herbert gets might depend on his pass blocking but I think a lot of people will be surprised at his production as a runner when given the chance.

They should bring in someone who is good at lead blocking and run out of the I. But that's not the Guru's MO....he'd rather run out of the fucking shotgun all damn day.

Williams will always be over Herbert. Nothing Herbert has shown on runs would change that any time soon

I know off the top of my head Kerryon Johnson is a 49er, Peyton Barber is a Raider, and Latavius Murray is a Raven.

Kerrith Whyte, Spencer Ware, and then Pierce is plug and play.
They will likely bring up Nall, and sign someone to the practice squad.

Williams and Herbert are your 1 2 backs until Monty is back. No one who they bring in will make the difference in any outcome.

This, just elevate some bum from the PS.

He is done IMO. Baltimore would have grabbed him if he had anything left.
