Is there an even older person we could hire to fill in for Tony while he's out?

I’m with you.

I’ve felt that ten game win streak was in us and about to come all year…it still might but all we need is a 5 gamer!! Lol.

Time to put the last 5 months behind us and go onto great things for 5 years.

Let’s go!!

It's suddenly a different team without Tony. Still crappy on defense. Vaughn is a horrific outfielder but Andrus has been a God-send both offensively and defensively. With Lynn, Cueto, and Cease going strong. , they can win the division after all and if Kopech heals up he'd be a great mid of the game reliever if need be. I would also quit this benching of Gavin Sheets against lefties. He isn't over-matched whatsoever.

3 games. Yesterday was a bad matchup,

But Cleveland has the pitching to prevent falling back to us.

We are going to have to pull our pants up and get 5 games above .500

We don’t deserve the playoffs but I’ll take it if it happens.

I don’t blame Tony but it was hard to pull this roster down to .500….

We should have gotten lucky with the free pass this year.

The parts of this team really do take turns screwing the team. Bullpen..starters…hitting.

This is what a full season feels like when a decent to good team never aligns. We just never all pulled together at once.

3 weeks left. 3 games to make up.

Gonna have to win every series and find 6 or 7 games in a row.

1.5 games!

Almost survived the trip west.

Bad news is we are going to want a 2 game lead with 7 games to go.

Good news is right now is our chance. It’s now or never.

There will be big big head to heads with Indians and twins have their own. Cleveland has a horrendous schedule if you look at their head to heads with white Sox and twins and two even harder series.

We gotta beat up on A’s to finish west trip and Colorado in Chicago…before a one game teaser with Cleveland. Big 7 days ahead while Minnesota and Cleveland beat up on each other.

Theoretically you might be tempted to give Cease an extra day rest and face Cleveland.

Depends on how hot tomorrow’s guy is.

Giolitto just isn't close to the pitcher he was a couple of years ago. His fastball is below average and the difference in speed with his breaking pitches are not enough. I believe his shoulder has something wrong with it. He's like pitching with a governor on his fastball.

Big win today.

Now Cle/min beat up on each other while we get Detroit.

Our advantage ends there however, and we need to get some games made up before we end our own season throwing haymakers with the twins.

Whoever wins the central is going to earn this down the stretch.

Each team must go through the others. All three hold their destiny well.

I said at “some point we would have to win 6 or 7 in a row”…

And that time needs to be now.

We are set up for it pitching sequence. Our hitters seem as hot as they have been all season, but so is Cleveland.

We have to sweep the Guardians…

At least winning the series leaves us an outside chance. But to be serious contenders, we kinda need this sweep rather than needing to win out or something the last 10 games.

So the season comes down to this unfortunately, sweep Cleveland and swoop the head to head tie breaker.

This is a 6.5 game value 3 game series.

To clarify…

If we sweep Cle we will be 1 game back with 3 series to go. 2 series with Minnesota. Still not great shape but a true 1 game from playoffs holding tiebreaker #1, head-to-head.

If Cle wins just 1 game in this series…they earn the tiebreaker and 3 back would essentially be 4.

It’s the ultimate all or nothing scenario, now or never.

Win 3 in a row…season starts anew.

Lose 1…it’s count the magic number to sadness.

Cease getting squeezed and Sox bats are ground ball machines through 4 innings.

Heart breaker.

Tough to see the kid Lambert come in a walk two. But he’s been good. Needed to be better than that in that spot.

Cease fought hard but the pitch count got away.

What a waste of talent and opportunity. The softest schedule in the American League.....roughly 100 games against sub .500 opponents and they can't even make the playoffs. It's not over till it's over, I guess but down 6 in the loss column with 13 to play.....they are on life support. The real bad news is the cake walk through the weak division ends next year with the balanced schedule.
