"The Chicago Tribune's Dan Wiederer dropped by the CSN studio to rank the top five players suiting up this year:

5. Prince Amukamara, CB

Wiederer's take: Terrific offseason, high hopes on what he can bring to secondary.

4. Josh Sitton, OL

Wiederer's take: Proven and understands exactly what it takes to win in this league.

3. Akiem Hicks, DE

Wiederer's take: Defensive MVP a season ago, durable.

2. Leonard Floyd, OLB

Wiederer's take: Had a very strong camp, could be a breakout year if he can stay healthy.

1. Jordan Howard, RB

Wiederer's take: Had a huge rookie campaign, gotta be at the top of the list."

What are your guys thoughts on this list? Is Amukamara one of the top 5 Bears players? No freeman or Long?

I agree with what you have written. I would even go so far as to replace your number 5 with Cody Whitehair.

Cody Whitehair is our best offensive lineman and in the top 5 of our team.

Remember when he was drafted all of those knuckleheads calling him "Cody Wheelchair"? What a bunch of DerpChops....

Trubisky WAS #1, he has been supplanted by Aguayo.

There's a new franchise savior in town and he's got an NFL career long field goal of 43 yards.

Man, this team really needs some playmakers. Fast forward to next year and I hope the list includes Trubisky and Shaheen.

If Amukamara is the the Bears fifth best player, it's going to be a horror show of a season.

I just thought that myself. On elite teams, he would be ranked in the 30's or 40's. He would literally be a backup on all contending teams

Freeman has to be on this list. Easily replace Amukamara with Freeman.
