Thanks for putting this up! Its always interesting to see who develops.

No prob. I did it to get some perspective on this years draft, thought I’d share it.

I never noticed, until now, that from the 2012 draft the #1 pick is out of the league, while the #75 and #88 picks have won the SB.

thanks for echoing what I've been saying all along. most of the guys taken early in the draft are college darlings; their accomplishments only exist in the plane of the amateur ranks. they don't always transfer into the professional ranks as swiftly. these are your Vince Youngs, Matt Leinarts, Jamarcus Russels, and Johnny Footballs... and a bunch of people before and after my examples, but you get the point. guys that are anointed as world beaters based on where they were drafted. it's bullshit that you think you have to get one of 5 players that excelled in college. the vast majority of them don't last beyond their rookie deals, many don't even last that long. the quarterbacks that win in the NFL were coached up to their levels of greatness. often with teams that had 1 OC for a very long time or a head coach that had people that placed an emphasis on coaching properly, not 7 throughout one player's tenure with a team. (you know what I'm saying).

this is why Eli Manning was great, with his mouth agape the entire time. this is why Aaron Rodgers was taken late in the first and Bears fans beat off to him. this why Tom Brady was passed on 6 times, drafted in the 6th round, and is literally the greatest to ever do it. McDaniels has had 12 years to grow since his first head coaching stint, he might get it right the next time, you can't deny he isn't great at what he did for the Patriots. and Adam Gase is still overrated. he has Tom Moore to thank for making Peyton Manning what he was.

I think I'm done with discussions here for awhile. I can't wait for the nuclear firestorm of the draft.

I wish it shows some people that the top QB's don't mean shit... how many of these guys I remember in 2021 is not a lot. Mostly the ones who played in the NFC North, and like big college names like Vince Young and Lienart.

I don't remember any real hype around any of those guys, despite how high they were taken.

In a 2011 ESPN documentary, it was reported that Carmazzi was then living in northern California as a farmer, yoga practitioner and an owner of five goats who did not own a television

This is why I don't understand guys like @msadows He legit thinks this draft is deep with QB talent and a lot of these guys are starting caliber - it just never works out that way. Maybe two of these guys make it past five years as a starter.

Also, sometimes big college football fans are bad judges of QB talent because they fall in love with whichever college guy and automatically think he'll be good in the pros.

Nice. I do this every so often for perspective and tend limit it to 1st round and go back 15 years to where guys may still be in the league. Drafting QBs is hard. History tells you that 2 or 3 of the top 5 will be good starters.

I have different perspective on this than those that don't want to 'waste' a pick. If you feel good about a player, you take him until you hit. Without a good QB, every other pick is wasted anyway. There's a reason that teams sell the farm for a QB they think has a good chance of working out.

It's about as deep as they get when 8 guys may go through day 2 but obviously, that guarantees nothing. That's hasn't happened in the last 20 years, maybe ever.

The only real takeaway here is:

1: Good QBs are rare.
2: if your idiot GM only drafts one QB in 6 years then your team probably won’t have a good QB

Draft a QB this year. Doesn't matter if you can't get one of the top 5. Take one of the next 5. Grab a UDFA. Take another QB next year. Keep taking them until you get it right. Makes no sense that the Bears have 2-3 picks on this list, and have never had a good QB. That number should be more like 6-8.
