109 days of sublime, unrealistic and ridiculous trade down scenarios, let it begin....
Ok heres one:
Bears trade #1 to Detroit for
their two 1rst rounders, their 2nd and next years 1rst.
Bears draft WR Quenton Johnston at #6 and OT at pick 17
2nd LB Drew Sanders at #48 and WR Zay Flowers at #55

That would be a pretty nice haul.

I'd rather wait then criticize someone else's idea.
Try this one on for size pbx..

Trade: #1 overall to Texans for #2 overall, '23 2nd Round Pick and '24 1st rounder. Houston felt the need to sprinkle on the extra 1st in '24 to keep Indianapolis from jumping up from #4 to get there guy.
Houston Selects Bryce Young QB/Bama

Trade: #2 overall to Colts for #4 overall, '23 2nd round pick, DT Deforest Buckner and '24 1st Round pick.
Colts gladly take the consolation prize CJ Stroud QB/Ohio St. with the #2 pick overall

Seattle sprints to the Podium to select Anthony Richardson QB/Florida at #3 overall

Trade: #4 overall to Detroilet for #6 overall, #17 overall, '23 2nd round pick and '24 1st Round pick.
Detroilet selects Will Levis QB/Kentucky at #4

#5 Arizona is astonished that an oppurtunity for taking 1 of the top QB's of the 2023 draft are dashed away and will have to suffer thru yet another abysmal season with Kyler Murray again at QB are forced to take Bryan Breese DL/Clemson at #5 overall. Not really consolation prize at this point, but, aside from a QB taken here they get the highest graded DLineman on their board here.

#6 Chicago selects Jalen Carter DT/Georgia. The fluss gets his coveted 3 tech to make his defense work. a tandem of Buckner and Carter wrecking havoc in the middle for Chicago will bring smiles to baby's faces.

some other things happen between Chicago's picks.

.
..
...

#17 Chicago Bears Select Paris Johnson OT/Ohio St. Building this team in the trenches is ultimately best way to go. Paris can be penciled into protecting Justincredible's blind side for the next decade.

Not a bad haul in day 1 trades. With gaining 3 '23 2nd round Picks and will have count'em 4 1st round picks with our own included in 2024.

Carter is not going to be as good as people think. If we take DL in top 6 it better be anderson and I’m not that high on him. Too bad we don’t have fangio and mack to package with anderson. If we could get Buckner, and anderson, and have a top 15 pick to get an OT or WR that would be great.

Too bad we burned that first rounder on claypool. And before some says “it’s not a first” Miami lost their pick and since we have the first pick then technically it’s the 32nd pick overall which is usually the last first rounder. Think about that all off-season.

If we can get established defensive and/or offensive firepower plus picks out of this, it could be awesome. Picks next year are worth less meaning we get more of those too.

So Detroit is giving up two firsts and a second to move up five spaces? Seems unlikely.

Well....I'd like it. That's for sure.

I am afraid we're going to see 1,000 posts like this with pie in the sky scenarios followed by criticism of the GM when he gets less with the pick.

But what the heck. We can dream for 4 months.

The DL can be fixed in FA there are a good number of really nice interior lineman. We also need at least one free agent DE. If we get two DT and two DE, and a LB and our other players healthy the defense will be ok. We need to build the offense and keep fields upright so we can throw 30-40 x a game. He needs a clean pocket and time to throw. He never had a clean pocket and when he did he didn’t have enough reps with the Reciever’s because that was a carousel. Look at KC they spend on offense the game has changed. We would be 9-8 if we had a decent line and two Reciever’s. I think Kmet took a step with Mooney and a good free agent, then claypool can be a one trick pony at 3. I’d like to see claypool line up as a second TE and stretch the seam or skinny posts with three WR Kmet and claypool. If we can get two good OT like brown and mcglincy we have a chance

Yep. Theres no guarantee the pick is even traded!

I mean it’s not like it’s something that happens often.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Sporting Kansas City
  1. Boston Celtics
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Minnesota Wild
  1. Iowa Hawkeyes
All of this is fun but none of it matters until FA is over. I think Poles has a chance to add at minimum 3 starters between the two lines. The FA WRs are basically trash. so to get weapons for Fields it will either come via a trade or in the draft. I would love getting a DJ Moore type included in a trade for #1. My one worry is that the WR room isn't going to be fixed in one off season and I think we will end up being thankful we have Claypool.
