Arif Hasan, Vikings beat reporter for The Athletic, compared Trubisky to Ryan Fitzpatrick and Josh McCown when we talked to him on the latest Bear Front podcast. Keep in mind, this is also the same writer who was calling out Trubs for not throwing to the left side of the field earlier this year. Regardless, good stuff from him but he also welcomed any response to those comparisons on twitter: @ArifHasanNFL

I am intrigued by his reasoning for comparing him to Fitz?

Fitz has always had issues with completion percentage and turnovers, neither of which have been a major issue for Trubisky so far.

Honestly....what the actual fuck.

I hope the media keeps shitting on him despite his solid performances. Probably motivate him to carve their team a new one.

The media is going to force Bears fans to rally behind a QB.

This may end up being a good thing.

Yes

I've on the fence with Trubisky (at best cautiously optimistic), but find myself arguing his case more often than not because the level of over-the-top hate he seems to get from around the league.

You can compare him all you want to anyone......statistically and athletically he is almost identical to Watson this year, but Watson is black so you can't really compare the two I guess...

I am cautiously optimistic and happy with the growth, but I feel like I am a Trubisky marter having to shoot down these asinine takes from morons. I just ask for proof. If you are going to make a statement about his play, please have it hold up to a cursory google search.

Christ, Barnwell's own stats department at ESPN refuted every point he made.

lighter version of Watson

I'm not sure why there is such a need to find a comp. Just assess Trubisky based on his performance. Not that hard.

Players have to consistently prove it, especially QBs. Mitch had his best game against Detroit - in all facets, including accuracy. But, he has had accuracy problems in other games this season so until his accuracy is consistent game to game he will be open for criticism, and rightfully so.

We Bear fans watch every snap of every game so we see the progress that he has made from last season and from earlier this season, but these commentators don't - they see inconsistency of good games and bad games, not the progression Mitch has shown.

Truth be told - I'm very hopeful Mitch is the real deal but I'm not totally sold yet either. He still needs to show it game after game.

Lol I feel like the trubisky hate/doubt has been building as he has been actually playing better.

After 3 weeks it totally made sense, but why does the doubt seem to grow?

I guess no one thinks he will be able to keep this pace up?

People need a narrative to stick to, plus clicks

I think it may be beyond comprehension that three good QBs were in the draft last year...
