By the logic of the OP, Trubisky is a better prospect than Josh Allen.

In the real world, Josh Allen turned into the better QB.
only if you ignore the fact that Allen had twice as many total TD compared to Mitch..

Well since Fields' season is over, and meatballs seem certain "the arrow is pointing up," let's do a side-by-side between Mitch and Fields.

CCS loves talking about average yards in the air...lol - Mitch was better.

You left out games started, which Fields has 2 less of. He has 10 games because in week 1 he ran a play. And week 2 he came in for a half.

Also, Fields season isn't necessarily done. Under the new rules, he can still play.

The only season that matters is the rookie season. Trubisky is a HOFer.

I have nothing against Fields and want him to be good because he qbs my team.

The side-by-side comparison to Mitch is what it is - unbiased. It's not saying what Fields will be, but what he is so far production wise.
I think its clear to everyone on this board you have some creepy obsession with wanting to see him fail.

What if he becomes really good one day? You'll always be remembered as the guy that tried to push you hate on the rest of us, in his rookie year no less.

In the NFL there is this stat called passer rating that is used to evaluate QBs especially in cases where they played a different amount of snaps. Trubisky's passer rating was 77. Allen's was 66. So by the logic of the OP, Trubisky was a better QB than Allen as a passer.

So are you in agreement that Trubisky and Fields for that matter are destined to be better passers than Allen because they had better passer ratings in their rookie seasons?

Who cares anyway? Fields is now Allen because what? For every Josh Allen I can name 5 busts.

for how much of a reach Trubisky was to draft, with one of the most batshit trade-up-only-1-spot scenarios ever, he should've been next level 21st century quarterback for the ages. he wasn't. Watson's yards weren't great in 2017, but he had 19 touchdowns to Trubisky's 7. Mahomes didn't really play in 2017, so no rookie numbers to compare there, but he put up 5000 yards his next season along with 50 touchdowns. okay? that's Peyton Manning/2007 Tom Brady-with-Randy Moss numbers in his first year starting.

here's a novel concept. try to follow along. it's the Chicago Bears. they've drafted quarterbacks in the first round going back many years. the only one that was really worth anything was McMahon, almost 40 years ago. squabble all you want about his stats, he won games in a rushing/defense will fucking kill you era. just hypothetically speaking, did you ever consider that maybe it isn't the players but rather... the team they're playing for? Marc Trestman made Josh McCown, a perennial journeyman loser, look like the second coming. maybe that was the coach Trubisky and Fields should've been paired with. instead, they got tired, near retirement John Fox and a fucking imbecile never-was Matt Nagy. I'm just saying, maybe it's entirely plausible that... Trubisky and Fields weren't elevated by the coaches above them? like it's a possibility that... maybe they're both not good? you don't have to shit on one to praise the other?

calm your fucking boner, emo kid. this discussion should be over but won't be, because nerds.

all 3 of them had terrible passer ratings, which is not completely uncommon for a rookie, but when one of them has 18TD and the other has 9TD its stupid to try and make the argument that the one with 9TD is the better prospect..

Only on CSS you find people making absurd comparisons all in the quest to prop up a Bears QB that has not played well..

Great take. Trestman was last coaching in the XFL before it folded. Maybe the Bears can bring him back to revive Fields. Not sure why they ever got rid of him in the first place.

Wait. Why don’t they just get the guy who was coaching Watson. The Bears can make him coach and GM. He has experience in both.

Maybe they can get some sort of Marc Trestman, Bill O’Brien partnership where they split head coaching duties and we get this like Super Offense nobody can stop.
