It’s actually a win win for Harbaugh: he gets national exposure as a coach in demand for NFL jobs which gives him leverage over MSU, and how many top recruits will be drawn to an Nfl caliber coach sitting in his living room?

He already had that NFL coach thing going for him but now when he sits in their living room they can look at him and wonder “can we trust this guy? “

Well to be fair he already had that going for him too but probably worse now.

If this was more than a friend giving Harbaugh leverage for a better deal at MI, Harbaugh likely wanted a Gruden deal along with full roster control. New GM would have instantly been neutered and had his future been dictated to him without aby path of escape.

'Sure, I'll consider being your employee but lets get 2 things straight. I make 3-4 times more than you do for a contract 3 times as long and you work for me.'

Along with the MI State coach getting $95m for 10, this should close that deal.

When you can’t figure out why they’re doing something…..it’s the money….
But Rise said the team would have a significant increase in revenue.

Look I completely understand why any GM/owner would not want to sign a contract like that. It's not just the money. There are checks and balances removed by agreeing to let Harbaugh be in charge and guaranteeing that length. I said it before the process began. With Harbaugh, you might as well sign him 1st and let him pick the GM to work for him. Not a structure I prefer.

No, if you sign a deal like that with Harbaugh, you might as well sign the team over to him….

Have you noticed the silence from the sports writers that were crucifying the Bears for not signing Harbaugh?
Yup and I sure didn't want them to sign him on the terms likely required.

Now tell me again the sports writers in this town don't sell sports fear porn to the masses...

If we ever want them to stop, we have to stop consuming it.

I've noticed its 9:40AM EST and its way too early to be talking about people being silent when we have a day full of radio and tv shows to air.

Who crucified them for not signing Harbaugh? I saw a lot of criticism over not bringing him in for an interview.

Harbaugh told them that he wanted 100 million dollars and control over everything including the design of the toilet seats. Vikings told him to go back to Michigan.

Nobody needs to see every video on Twitter that offends you. Sorry you are so sensitive

Eh, I don't know. If you don't like it, you can just use ignore to curate the content you want to see. Everyone has different things they like and dislike, so some might enjoy that.
