They argue "Best of 3, Kane could steal that"

Then they argue "Best of 3, Carey Price could steal that"

If you have superstars, they can steal a 7 game series too.

I would agree if this were a permanent playoff change, but it would be acceptable for one year.

A few seem to miss the entire point.

Over the course of a longer series, it is more likely the better deeper team wins. Even if one individual has the type of performance that can win a game or two.

The shorter a series, the better chance that one individual's performance wins a series.

It was Connor McDavid and the Oilers. They did not want to play a healthy Hawks team in a 3 game series. Not sure they wan't to play them in a 5 game either. Hawks could have been 3-0 against them in the regular season, and ended up 2-1.

It sounds like they didn't want to play the Hawks, period. That's the impression I got from when the first reports dropped. Either way -- and even though the Hawks would have been at an advantage in a 3 or 5 game series -- I'm glad it's best of 7. That's how it should be.
