Olsen mentioned today with the pressure and lack of open options, he felt it was impossible to evaluate Fields’ play. Typically if a QB is missing open reads, the broadcast crew is quick to illustrate the point and back it up with video.

They did show that he missed Mooney streaking down the middle on the PI.

Greg Olsen also lost his mind and was in shambles over baker mayfield getting “punched in the face” in the first quarter today. When it appeared as if he barely got touched. Greg Olsen sucked today.

No, I don’t believe the Bears are the only team in the NFL in decades whose coaching staff doesn’t allow audibles. Do you actually for a second believe that could be the case?

“Thats one of the main reasons why Foles was not even considers for this season.” No it isn’t. Why do you think you can just make things up? Foles was never in the mix because they never even wanted him this year. They couldn’t get rid of him and his contract. And he’s not playing because he was horrible. lol at you just making up some nonsense about it being because of audibles. They drafted Fields and already had Dalton. Foles was the third stringer. He was never going to play unless they had injuries.
So Foles was bad. Fields is bad. Dalton is bad. Itch was bad.

Nagy just got a lot of bad luck with QBs, his playcalling is that amazing he couldn't make any of them look adequate?

it’s third and 20. You’ve already lost the possession. Teams aren’t looking to convert 3rd and 20’s. That’s how you throw interceptions. you run something like a draw or a screen and pray somethijg crazy happens.

this is what I mean. Bunch of fans who have no clue what they're talking about. Go watch any team run a 3rd and 20. They’re just going to hand it off or do a screen or something and punt the ball. This guys upset Nagy didn’t have something dialed up for 3rd and 20 though. Lol, okay.
I saw Brissett just have a 3rd and 20, dude rolled out and threw it down the field for 27 yards. Literally happened 20 minutes ago. So, I guess fans have never seen that before.

He didn't lose his mind. I hate when fans see something and make stupid, baseless conclusions. ;)

cleveland could cheat and blitz and just do whatever they wanted because Fields was so bad there was no consequences. ”oh we’ll just blitz every play. And he can’t burn us anyway because he’s not ready and he looks like a deer in headlights. As soon as he hears footsteps he gets happy feet and starts missing guys badly And he’ll probably just stand there and hold the ball.”

Foles was bad. Dalton has been alright. Pretty good compared to what I’d thought he’d be honestly. Mitch had moments and was the best of all three. Not to say he was good. He was okay though. And I know some of you can now see he wasn’t that bad. It’s just that you have no clue what’s going on and he was somebody to blame so so you went with it. Compared to Fields today he was a hall of famer. he was kind of dumb or maybe not willing to stand up for himself or something (too nice?) and maybe even a little mentally weak or unsure of himself and he’d make some huge mistake at the worst moment. I defended him more than I wanted, but you have mouth breathers around here who acted as if he was the worst QB to ever set foot on an NFL field. When at worst he was a low end starter with potential.

If I’m being honest what Fields showed me today has me really worried. I know I’m not the only person that feels that way. Rookies of course have bad games. That was just awful though. I don’t give a shit about Nagy or the calls or whatever. I don’t care if a freaking dog was calling those plays. You can still look competent and overcome shortcomings of your teammates occasionally. He couldn’t do anything. And even the stuff you thought he had (speed for instance) it appears he doesn’t. he looked super slow footed and like he has no presence in the pocket whatsoever. It was just horrible across the board. The saving grace is it was his first start. Maybe he picks things up in a weird way and it will click all at once. I just know what I saw was possibly the worst game from a bears qb I’ve eve seen and I’ve seen some awful qb play from this franchise. And that awful play in the past was always some third stringer late in the year hoisted Into the starting spot because of injuries and the team just being terrible. Ie. Canadian Football league legend Henry Burris.

he was pretty upset over it. lol at you arguing with me about the correct amount of anger Greg Olsen displayed there though. it was weird how upset and vocal he was considering the bears player hardly even touched him.

the play by play guy was mad too. That’s what made it so weird. It’s like they were both watching a completely different game. I remember they were both really adamant about how could they pick up that flag and blah blah blah. They even said he got punched in the face. Then they showed the replay after like 10 seconds of them complaining and you could see it was hardly anything.

Lets not act like the screams for Justin didn’t happen before the regular season.
What the fans want is irrelevant. And how long do you keep him in bubble wrap? Until the bears get a good ol. Dude has to play.

So? You think Fields is better than Dalton so that shouldnt matter
Fields is infinitely more of an athlete at Dalton, is he better? No . Andy has 11 years of experience, Justin has one week.

Justin Herbert threw for 311 yards, 1 passing and 1 rushing TD during his first NFL start....so whats your point?

cool story but what does that have to do with anything relevant to who’s going to shit the bed more in a Matt Nagy offense?

The only question that we should ask is did that help Fields?

Are there any things from that game that will make him better in 1-2 years? What positives can be drawn and what potential negatives?

Being uncomfortable for a moment on television doesn’t mean he’s lost his football intelligence.

There’s no way that helped him.
