Got a Criterion gift card for Christmas and picked up Cooley High. I also got Medium Cool which was filmed in Chicago during the 68 Democratic National Convention.

Definitely Blues Brothers, Ferris Beuller’s Day Off and The Breakfast Club. In that order.

Anything more recent? I know 8-Bit Christmas was filmed and based in Chicago. Actually a decent movie 6.5 out of 10.

Running scared was a favorite of mine for infrastructure reasons.

My brother (about 16 years older than me) lived in a shitty building...the Leland hotel.
I used to visit him, there was nothing to do there so I just hung around outside in a weedy lot next door.

They decided to film a scene there, and they built a basketball court in the weedy lot.
Its an early scene, maybe even the opener.

The movie was so so, but the basketball court was awesome.

Eight Men Out was my favorite movie set in Chicago.

Road to Perdition was an excellent Tom Hanks movie with the Frank Nitti scenes set in Chicago.

OF course, the Untouchables was terrific with Costner and the great Sean Connery.
